An Associated Press-GfK poll says 56 percent of those surveyed in the past week approve of Obama's job performance, up from 50 percent in September. It's the first time since he took office in January that his rating has gone up.

People also feel better about his handling of the economy and his proposed health care overhaul.

This poll had him at 50% last month, so you can't say they're just lying to make him feel good.  The had him at 50% when everyone else did.

Now thye have him at 56%.  Will be interesting to see where Gallup and others have him for October.

Interesting, not much has changed except we have lost more jobs, we are further in debt with their continued spending, and we've experienced some increase in taxation and more proposed taxation in discussions.

I thought it was interesting too.  There were crickets when he was staring 49% in the face.   I've been following the Gallup since the inauguration.  Think he'll move back into the 70's or has he plateaued?

The trend on Gallup still has his disapproval ratings going up.  Approval might be plateauing.  Only time will tell.

this is very good advice obama also contradicts himself and simply makes himself look uninformed alot of the times when he does interviews. If he simply steps back from the interviews and public photo opts his ratings would go up i would think.

nope, because every single thing Obama does becomes a catastrophic disaster by polarizing drama queens.  So where people on the left might have found themselves being critical of certain things and not happy about things, they're now completely distracted by the polarizing drama queens like Beck.  So they're not even focused on what might piss them off.  They're busy defending Obama from what looks like a lunatic onslaught.  It has nothing to do with pointing out insane policies.  You and Beck go far above and beyond that.
