POLL: What is your opinion on Michael Moore?

I saw part of an interview w/MM recently and wondered what Political Board Getbigger's opinions are on the man.  Seems like he's had quite a bit of success but I haven't seen any of his films yet.  I've heard mixed reviews of course.

After watching Bowling for Columbine and seeing his outrage that the state of Michigan was actually making people work instead of giving them unlimited welfare,its clear he is a dunce.By the way,Michigan had a republican governor,things were ok.Now they have a lib and the state is bankrupt.Hooray for liberal politics.

I like Michael Moore.
I am no big fan of his movies. they're often overly simplified and Moore uses more emotion than should be in a documentary.
however, Stella. I think you should see 'Roger and me'. one of his earliest movies and quite a piece of Americana.
I like Moore for being someone who is trying to say something in the era of superficial.
He's also willing to talk to those disagreeing with him.
Moore was anti-Iraq war from day 1 and was hated for it.still he went to see pro-war people.

He is passionate.  I disagree with his Bowling for Columbine.  I think he exposed Bush big time on iraq war, but him owning stock in the same companies? 

Sicko had some good points but was very one-sided and designed to drudge emotions far more than make you think about realistic solutions.

However, I'm *hoping* most people look past their disgust for him and see the new movie for what it is, an expose on corruption.  However, I am betting 20% of getbiggers will defend AIG, due to their hatred for Moore...

You obviously had your head up your ass again cos that wasn't what the outrage was about. Way to greatly oversimplified an issue. If she was working then the restaurant should have offered her a job and not relied on the government for the handouts. Way to get around minimum wage.

Let me put it this way Stella.
I give Moore lots of credit for trying to tell what he considers is the little man's perspective.
Sometimes Moore is even right. How many today can honestly say that they still feel the same way about war in Iraq?
He actually was against it.
Then again, whether or not Moore have the 'right opinions' isn't really my concern. I just like the idea of many differing independent voices of which he is one.
We need more like him.from left to right.and less of the Beck's

he's never claimed to be impartial. but you're right. the emotion of his movies makes them pretty flawed.
except for roger and me. that's a pretty personal depiction of a little motown dying. check it out. much better than his latter stuff.

  I was one of the few Conservatives who saw through Bush's Iraq bullshit, so I agree with a lot of what was he said in Fahrenheit 9/11. That's about it, though. I liked how he interviewd Terry Nichols's brother in Bowling... in an attempt to make all 2nd Amendment supporters look as nutty as he was.

his best doc imo was "roger and me" bowling sucked and F-9/11 was ok.  sicko was ok too.  the new one looks like it'll have some funny moments everyone can identify with, like the "where's our money" part.  and the lady in charge of keeping account of the tax payers investment is like, "i don't know" lol...  I mean almost everyone was against the bailouts so it is funny seeing him try to get the money back in an lol way people frusrated with the bailouts can identify with also wanting to do.
