Nasser hasn't gone to pro shows for years, well before his contraversial interviews. He only goes to a show if one of his friends is competing. In the last few years he went to two such NPC shows in San Diego and was greeted and treated with much respect by many officials, fans, IFBB pros and friends. Many such pics were posted on the Nasser Nights thread of the last show he went to some months ago.
