Even if he does treat me, another 20% of the time the American doctor will hit me with a bankrupting multi-hundred-thousand dollar bill when the insurance company denies my claim.

Alright jackass, there are so many variables involved in life expectancy and healthcare is only one of them.  Americans are MUCH MORE wealthy then  cubans and because of that we all have cars ( no exercise) and people eat in excess.  The things we can afford here are not exactly good for us but we still do them anyways.   Cuba doesnt have KFC and Mcdonalds.  A very big reason why are life expectancy could be less is because of obesity and pure laziness. Cubans only eat just enough to fill themselves cause there poor.

Neither do crime stats; wealth disparities; bankruptcy rates; child mortality etc etc.

The figures on education levels don't lie either... you yourself are proof of this; a supposedly educated American who can't differentiate between facts and propaganda.

Check out the WHO and UN measures of which countries are best to live in.
