We went from you making the accusation that Cuban prosperity is a responsibility of the United States to umm...? What?
Well, see, there's the problem.
This is a classic example of why you guys think you "win" these debates when you simply don't.
I never made the point you are attributing to me... you have misquoted me.
You fabricated the "responsibility" angle, now you are attacking ME for claiming that?
I made the point that Cuba is still beating the US in both health and education (according to the WHO and UN reports) despite their huge disadvantage of being under US embargo; effectively losing out on their biggest export partner. (A valid argument)
What you have done is:
-scanned over my post without reading it properly
-inferred a point that was never implied
-taken exception to an imagined slight against America
-paraphrased my quote tainted with your misconception (adding in the word "responsibility")
-dishonestly misquoting me
Now you are attacking me over a point that YOU made, but dishonestly attributed to me.
Would it be fair if I did the same to one of your posts?
The great thing about the US, is the fact that we believe, or use to believe in personal responsibility. Of course some people won't get a decent education or healthcare when it's left up to them.
...does this post mean you are accusing Americans of being irresponsible when they refuse to educate themselves about the healthcare debate?
Of course not, it's just a (mild) example how poor comprehension and deliberate/dishonest misquoting or paraphrasing derails proper discussion.
See your mistake?
