Last time I saw a dermatologist she tried to make me take Acutane (sp?), when a food allergy was actually to blame.  :o

it all depends on the look you are going for, you ethnicity, your face shape and how said facial hair would work in concert with what hairstyle (or lack of hairstyle) you are working with

i wouldn't go with any facial hair because it would take away from the hair
however, if anything, i would experiment with a five o'clock shadow growth in a well defined beard shape

five o'clock shadow work very well with people with predominately Caucasian features
