UFC Hall of Famer and former light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell recently spoke to Sherdog about a potential comeback and willingness to fight Kimbo Slice.

He said:

“I still love fighting. I don’t know what we’re going to come up with. I’m going to start spending a lot of time training guys or get back in there – one of the two.

Why would anyone even want to see me fight Kimbo? I have no interest in that fight. Whatever. It is what it is. I guess I’d do it, if that’s who I had to fight to come back.

I needed some time off. Dancing actually gave me something to concentrate on and get in shape on. I just want to get back in shape and stay in shape and start training with people and see what I want to do.”

LOL

What an awful fight-- Two guys with no ground game whatsoever throwing haymakers-- one who couldnt even make through one fight on TUF and another who lost his last 5 fights in a row.

I think I'd rather watch Ray Mercer fight Tim Sylvia again.

I think this fight would be a HUGE draw, Chuck -old glory, MMA legend, vs. Street fighter, internet legend, it would make a lot of $ for whoever carried it . A prime Chuck would have made quick work of Kimbo, but today the fight might be very interesting- both have heavy hands and Chuck will keep it standing which gives Kimbo a decent chance at putting Chuck away, I don't see  it lasting too long either way.

chuck vs kimbo is a great idea....would love 2 see those two bang.neither guy is a legit contender for the title so why not....some people act like every fight has to be between two top ten fighters to be watchable...some of the best fights I've ever seen have been fights that really had little to do with the title or moving up the ranks...just two guys fighting just for the sake of fighting can be a beautiful thing...

Chuck v Kimbo seems laughable.  Kimbo against one the best strikers ever?

I like Chuck/Wandy round 2 ..

what about chuck/ken shammy?

You think a 35 year old kimbo is gonna challenge 4 the heavyweight title against Brock or Carwin?

You think a 40 year old fighter thats lost 4 of his last 5 fights(most by getting KTFO)is in line or should fight Machida?

My basic point is neither fighter will ever be champ or even a legit contender from this point on...Yea Kimbo is not good enough because It's to late in the game for him to learn any wrestling or BBJ...But he wouldn't need those skills vs chuck plus his stand up is adequate and he would have the height, weight, and reach advantage....I'm not talkin about this being a main event or anything but Hell if this fight wouldn't help sell PPV's which is what Dana is all about afterall.

I agree: Liddell is not a legic contender for a champ, Kimbo is not a legit contender to be a real UFC fighter

Dana has said many times he doesn't want freak fights in UFC. Otherwise we'd see giant Silva, the huge korean guy, zulu and all the other freaks fighting in UFC. Yes, Dana wants inteersting match ups and high PPV profits but I highly doubt fight like this would ever happen, unless Dana chooses to move UFC one step closer to a freak show. There's no athletic logic for this fight. Hey, I'd watch Kimbo being knocked out if it happened but I don't think it ever will.

Kimbo would be some nice cannon fodder for Chuck I guess.

But what would he do after that?

UFC can be accused of a lot. But they're not known for protecting fighters.

The only exemption I can think of is Bisping who was protected a little too much before finally meeting his destiny in Hendo. ;D

And what a destiny that was.

Bisping is done!

As empty as paradise

I don't see how this is a freak fight.both are decent strikers...and Dana has already said Kimbo will be fighting in the UFC...so who would he be matched up with that wouldnt be a "freak fight" in your eyes?
