I don’t think god gives a fuck.. one way or the other.  There tends to be a natural order to things.. Go against that, nature takes its course.

You know right from wrong.. all by yourself.

while searching for a picture of "Jesus"  ::), i came upon a popular mechanics article. upon reading the first 4 comments in regard to what jesus really looked like i found this gem:

151. RE: Real Face Of Jesus: December 2002 Cover Story
He doesn't look like this. He's about 5f6in tall, stocky not scrawny build. Exceptional health. I have seen him with his hair tied back. A fair bit of body and facial hair, a mistache. The sandals he is said to have worn are accurate. He is a serious person with olive skin and very black eyes centred under a generous forehead and there are signs of piercing intelligence and urgency in his look. I believe since he started to appear to me that he wants to change the scriptures. The message i have received from him says that they are false. I'm not even religous, I'm spiritual and didn't ask for this revelation, but I've been chosen. I've often thought i must be crazy and hallucinating, and have tried health professionals. They say in a Jungian psychology way that he represents an archetype and that it is common for many people to have seen him over the years. I'm just one of them, but he won't go away, and I don't understand why he has appeared to me at this time. I think he has a message to deliver...

Jehovah witnesses do not believe in the true Jesus of the Bible. Their version of Jesus has different characteristics and qualities of the true Jesus.

HAHAHAHA! "true" Jesus?  ::)

I wonder if there's a real Santa Claus?

to be fair, it would be interesting to know how many people commenting here have actually read through the ENTIRE bible.  lots of experts, but i would guess not many educated experts posting in this thread.  just an observation on judging a matter fairly before speaking.

I've read the holy fucking bible.. king james version.

The 2 witnesses I know, have NOT read the entire Bible, they've had about 15 years to do it.  ::)

How is that? I think their version is the most correct one. If you read the Bible it's quite clear Jesus is not God...

Jesus is God

Jesus refered to Himself as "I AM" (Old testament reference to The Father)

Jesus said "if you've seen Me you've seen the Father", and "The Father and I are one"

jehwit: Is masturbation a sin? Sincere question.

lust is a sin yes. Jesus paid for that sin. Through His Death, Jesus paid the penalty for every sin. If you put your faith in him. Every sin you have committed or will ever commit in the future, is wiped out by His Blood. He paid the price so you don't have to. He took your sin, and you take His righteousness.

God loves these people. He despises the sins they commit.

They will all go to heaven if the put their faith in Jesus (Jesus has already died to remit their sins)

it means that you believe that one day Jesus will come down to earth in a spaceship and kill all the non-believers which will be about 4.5 billion or so and the rest will life a life of luxury in heaven.

It also means that you hate fags, people of colour and bomb abortion clinics.

It really is a religion of peace   :-\

Very well put.  Me; raised Catholic and having a hard time buying into Christianity today.  The bible is an old book how could the men who have written it be any more than storytellers?  I don't see how this book can hold so much credence, when there are other big religions who also have the "true book" of their own?

Also I don't see how "Jesus" or God as he is thought by Christians, dying on the cross could wipe out the sins of humanity for eternity?  It's just one life, why does that give everyone free reign to do what they want and then repent, have faith in Jesus and all is forgiven?  It makes no sense at all.  A murder and rapist can say "I believe in Jesus and have faith in the lord" and all is OK with God?  This is ludicrous and was dreamed up to give people who are guilt ridden hope they will be accepted into "heaven"

A human life couldn't bare are the sin ever committed.

philosophy and religion degree....

read the bible, as well as many other religious scrolls/ texts/ mantras...what have you...

this is why im an athiest. i dont deny anyones belief in god/ jesus/ buddha...or anything else for that matter. it does bother me when they try to apply it to me. jesus didnt die for my sins.......trust me.

this is also why i try not to involve myself in religious arguments around here (or anywhere else). to much drama involved.

i believe that everyone is entitled to their beliefs....however, im from the free will camp....so i try to keep to myself as to not offend (too much)

A human life couldn't bare are the sin ever committed.

But a man who was also God could, and did, bare all our sins
Man was perfect when God made him, but by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, and so death passed upon all men.

Jesus is God in human flesh.  He took on the form of a man, and lived a life without sin (he did what adam couldnt do).  The death of this one innocent man, was a sacrifice for the whole world.  just as sin passed upon all through one, life passed upon all through one, and this life is in Jesus.

In order to receive this life though, you must believe that Jesus died and rose again to pay for your sins, and trust him to forgive them.  it is a one time thing this "being born again".  just as you are born into your human family once, you can only be born into God's family once.  those who accept him are "born again".

God doesnt want anyone to goto hell...this is shown by his death on hte cross.  we rightly all deserve it, but God has made a way of escape for us because he cares.  BUT, lets say a man is on death row, and the judge says taht another man is willing to take his place so that he might live, but the man on death row refuses, then that man will pay for his own crime (sins).  Jesus is willing to be our substitute, but a person has to want for him to take their place.

the most famous verse in the bible still applies today:  John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

God stands by an patiently offers life while people mock and ridicule.  People love their sin mroe than they love God, and they dont want to have anything to do with Him for fear that they might have to feel guilty or part ways with that sin that they love so much.

God needing a sacrifice to pay for this sin doesn't make any sense. He's omnipotent, why not simply forgive Man?

I don't really want an answer to this. Little about religion makes sense or can be reasoned about. It's a holy mystery I guess. Christians can't even agree amongst themselves how to interpret the bible. Too bad Jesus can't come down and set things straight. How's the average man supposed to know how to serve God? So many ways, so many religions... none make much sense.

sin requires a blood sacrifice to cover it.

Jesus was that sacrifice. Jesus blood not only covered it, His blood removed the FACT of sin in the spirit of anyone that puts their faith in Him.
