Very well put.  Me; raised Catholic and having a hard time buying into Christianity today.  The bible is an old book how could the men who have written it be any more than storytellers?  I don't see how this book can hold so much credence, when there are other big religions who also have the "true book" of their own?

Also I don't see how "Jesus" or God as he is thought by Christians, dying on the cross could wipe out the sins of humanity for eternity?  It's just one life, why does that give everyone free reign to do what they want and then repent, have faith in Jesus and all is forgiven?  It makes no sense at all.  A murder and rapist can say "I believe in Jesus and have faith in the lord" and all is OK with God?  This is ludicrous and was dreamed up to give people who are guilt ridden hope they will be accepted into "heaven"

x2 a deep thinker

sin requires a blood sacrifice to cover it.

Jesus was that sacrifice. Jesus blood not only covered it, His blood removed the FACT of sin in the spirit of anyone that puts their faith in Him.

Doesn't make any sense sorry. Especially if Jesus = god.

a man couldn't bare the punishment for every sin committed.....so God worked salvation Himself!

My point exactly. It would be amazing what the world would believe in if documented text of some savior were found before jesus.

I graduated college. Took some fairly difficult classes too. Biology 1 and 2, Genetics, anatomy and physiology 1&2, chemistry 1&2, organic chemistry, microbiology....all with labs

and yes I believe Jesus stepped into this world (that he made) and died for you and me...and eveyone else

a Christian does not enjoy sin in their spirit. A Christian that sins is usually a miserable person.

When a Christian goes to heaven.....they receive extra rewards...or lose rewards based on their obedience (but they are still saved and in heaven for ever)

Just because no one talks about Zeus anymore, doesn't mean he doesn't exist.

He's reading this board.

You're all going to Hell.

OMFG, is this debate still going on??  Jebus Christ on a crutch, people...   your invisible sky-daddy is just like Santa Clause and the Tooth Fairy.  I seriously can't figure out why anyone with a working brain would believe this nonsense.  ::)

This sounds crazy!!  Jesus was a sinner.

Why is your Christian religion based in fear?  Why is so much of this all powerfull religion based here on earth when there is a whole universe out there?  I think Christianity also expouses that there is only life on earth.  A planet about as big as a grain of sand on all the beaches in this world compared to the size of the universe?

Hell was created to have a yang to the yin of going to heaven. The sad fact is the Bible has been rewritten so many times to the interest of those in power at the time. Damn, you guys need to look at the past of how "christian believes" have retarded the human race.  I mean hell, the "church" wants to argue with anyone that proves the idea of evolution.  When it is a known fact. I am going to start my own religion and dare the superior power to kill me dead with the appointed angel of death or whomever they decide that job fit for...

People are weak, scared and clueless. They need something to believe in.. because they don’t believe in themselves. Fools who need to follow.. desperate for some type of understanding.. so desperate they are willing to believe god is communicating through the written word of men.

Sheep. Religion is for the lost.
