As a member of the California State Athletic Commission, I can honestly say this was bullshit.....as well as the CSAC.

Horrible decision,  Cecil Peeples must have been one of the judges.  Awful.

I was at that fight, and Shogun clearly should of won the decision.  While both fighters were pretty even, Shogun was the stronger fighter, and took the initiative and got some great punches.   Red welts on Machida where his ribs are, and after each round, his corner had to put ice on his leg muscles because they were heating up and probably tightening.  Shogun needed nothing, and was determined to win.

When they announced Machida, there were a chorus of boos around the arena, although there were also a good amount of applause, as Machida fans were aplenty in that arena.

Found this on SternFanNetwork; one of the posters offered up a generic email to the CSAC for anyone with a gripe.  Thought it was pretty funny:

Dear California State Athletic Commission,

I'm sorry to interrupt your workday while you tend to business involving actual sports, but there are a lot of really pissed off 24 year old guys wearing 'Tapout' shirts. Apparently, these guys sent $49.95 to this huge tool named Dana White who runs this circus involving a bunch of ex-college wrestlers with cauliflower ears beating each other up. From what I understand, some of these guys would prefer to have shower sex with the meathead called Shogun than with the guy named Machida. They are really upset because the judges who were sitting right next to the ring while these two knocked the shit out of each other as Dana and his bosses made all of the money apparently thought that the Machida guy beat up the Shogun guy a little more than the other way around. They demand justice for Shogun and they want it now!

I don't expect you guys to really do anything about this, but thought you might get a kick out of the email and others like it and maybe pass it around the room so everybody at the commission gets a nice chuckle. Again, I'm really sorry to bother you. Please get back to your important business.

Sincerely,

Every sports fan on the planet who isn't a 24 year old guy wearing a 'Tapout' t-shirt

Watched the fight three times.  Last time watched was without sound.  Rogan seemed biased toward Rua entire fight which can sway viewers.  "Good leg kick" but Shogun just also took a punch to the temple.  Two awesome warriors, nice contrast of striking, but I think it was close.  Rematch will be good.  Cuts on Machida's face, bruises on Shoguns forehead.  Close fight! Machida checked quite a few of the leg kicks.

...you "forgot" to mention that Machida's footwork was seriously impeded due to those "checked" leg kicks. Oh dear...you mention Shogun got a bruise to his forehead...after 5 rounds!! Thats all??

Shogun did way more damage
Shogun landed more strikes
Shogun was the agressor
Shogun showed the better octagon control

Is this accurate, and if so, were did you get it?  If these numbers are accurate its validation of Rua's victory.
