I've heard a lot of talk about Jay Cutler's "business acumen", "savvy", "investments", etc. Does anyone have any specifics?

Real estate, mostly. Using his "brand" to sponsor products - etc. A successful mail order store. Hats, shirts, dvd's. I must admit, the guy is pretty savvy. He's made a lot of money in a "sport" that is known to ruin most financially.

Yeah it appears he's pretty successful , one of the rare few who are not only earning a living from the sport but doing very well.

It's pretty saf to say Jay prolly nets 500k or so per year. Also, you know that he's doing what he trully loves. That's living the dream imo. Shit, my goal in life is to make 500k per year doing what I really love. Thats good stuff.

After living in Venice, and having met Jay personally a few times, I can attest that he is no longer doing what he "truly loves." I think in the beginning he did, but over the years, he simply has adopted an outlook, in which he treats it as a job. He feels that since he makes the most $$ of any pro bodybuilder in the world, then why quit doing it?

I think he still loves it, but I agree that he should be more outspoken in making postive changes in bodybuilding. Seems like he just wants to make money. I was disappointed he didnt rock the boat at all after he won his first two Olympia's. If only he would use his postion as a platform to make some changes. I am sure there are things he wants to change... But maybe he is afraid.

im pretty sure he nets much more than that a year, id say probably around 1.1m-1.2m per year

Jay makes about 2- 2.5 Milion a year,this I know for a fact.Not bad for a bodybuider.Plus his wife , who is a nurse ,works for Juilio Garcio, one of the best plastic surgeons in Vegas, so she probably makes about $100,000 a year. herself.
Julio Garcia is also owns an anti-aging clinic in Vegas, that sells GH and Testosterone repacement.I wonder why Jays wife works for an anti-aging specialist, even though he makes about 2 million a year .

Yup - seems like he's not a egomaniac who wants to stay big after he retires. Seems to have planned out his career and after pretty well.

Business Acumen...he lives in a house that is worth less than he paid in a development that is abandoned half built out with most of the remaining homes for sale. He sells "hata blockas" online. Where he's done well is with sponsors and guest posing.
