That is probably one of the major reasons Dorian was as good as he was... little to do with Genetics, as much as it was his ability to think thru sticking points, and have a great sense of existential purpose behind his endeavors...

Dorian did have advisers I'm sure. Even consulted with Dan Duchaine.

I agree about guys becoming gurus just by proclaiming it long enough. Especially now with the internet it's pretty easy.

I used to like helping competitors out with contest prep. I would only charge...2 pre-judge & 2- nightshow tickets and lunch in between shows. Seriously. I did a good job with lots of people by keeping them in line not getting distracted with the latest fads in dieting etc...

Over time it seemed like every other day and new guy would rise up and proclaim they were a 'guru'. I'd be at shows and no matter who I spoke to they had 'somebody in the show' and carried themselves like they were enigmatic geniuses. This one guy even wore non-prescription glasses a shirt & tie and slacks as if he was there on buisness.

That's when I said... "Fuck this!" and walked away. Saying you are a nutritional guru to contest physiques is in the same realm of having a tribal tat. It's old, played-out and fukcing lame.

So what exactly makes you qualified? If I were interested in taking a Safari in the Congo, would I go find someone that had done nothing but read about it in the pages of National Geographic, (and insisted that he was very accomplished for doing so!), or would I try and hire someone that had actually been there?
