Writer Rick Moody correctly rips 'Higher Love' a new one: http://therumpus.net/2009/11/swinging-modern-sounds-17-higher-love/

Who knows!? Not everyone is a hit machine, I guess. Stevey and Eric Burdon, tho, are singular in having farking amazing (White) voices at, like, 17!? I mean, WTF! They sound like 50-year-old Delta bluesmen. Life is not fair.  >:(

Chimps- Speaking of, how about the pipes on Alex Chilton? Dude's 16 in this video!!!

Like him. And love his Bigstar stuff, too. Kinda of a forgotten band these days, which is a shame.

Great singer!  He is ranked #33 on the Rolling Stone list of 100 greatest singers of all time.

"Born May 12th, 1948 Key Tracks "Gimme Some Lovin'" (with the Spencer Davis Group), "Dear Mr. Fantasy" (with Traffic), "When You See a Chance" (solo) Influenced Dave Matthews, John Mayer. Steve Winwood exploded onto the London music scene as a teenager with his powerful, soulful tenor —  notably on "Gimme Some Lovin'" and "I'm a Man" with the Spencer Davis Group. "I thought he had the greatest voice," said Billy Joel, "this skinny little English kid singing like Ray Charles." The frontman for the jazz-infused pop of Traffic and then the jam rock of Blind Faith (with Eric Clapton), Winwood re-emerged in the mid-Eighties with the hits "Back in the High Life Again" and "Higher Love" —  highly polished soul pop that made him a star all over again. "He was able to copy Jimmy Reed, and I thought, 'Where the hell is this voice coming from?' " said Spencer Davis. "From a diminutive guy, at that age, how can he do it? But he did it."

Don't forget he was an ace keyboardist that all the acts that traveled to Britain wanted on their tour.

As you actually pointed out to me originally in this thread, Mr. Winwood's legacy reachs much further than "Higher Love"

haha, Classic thread here.
I like uncle fester on the drums there.
Great track, percussion intro on "Higher Love".
80s, what a great era.
2000-10 Just a shit stain left behind....really sad.
Computers have killed music, but at first, helped it.
Put out a 1 bar loop and fools in clubs across America move there heads, filled with small brains, to it.
"Yo, that Missy Elliot is phat!" ::)

A few good bands here and there, but ours is the first of many failed music generations to come.

No lie.
