a lot of guys who were competing at the Olympia in the 80s were in their early 20s!!.. berry demey and bob paris just to menation few.. lee haney himself won the title when he was less than 25!!..

Haney was indeed only 32 when he won his Eight in 1991!

Didn't Lee Priest also become a pro at very young age?

Rich's CONDATIONING was incredible for the time (see the 1983 nationals) ripped quads, back, glutes etc and considering he was all of 20 or so in the early 1980s his muscle conditioning was extraordernary as this BDB shot clearly shows

i agree yate's forearms shrank a lot by 1996...

biceps/forearms have tears for sure...

the thing that killed him besides the arms was the loss of chest thickness... his pecs were thick when he was young.

How many guys nowadays looked like Rich did at age 22 at the Olympia.

That back-dbl-bi looks like shit... no separation.  He always had acne all over his back.  Dude would not win a junior nationals show today.

And everyone is drooling all over Jay Cutler's new physique. All because he has sprouted 2 a vein in his delt. When you look at this SICK back double bicep shot of Gaspari from 25 years ago, it shows just HOW MUCH the sport has regressed since then. Cutler looks like play doe compared to Rich.

Funny thing is, Rich only weighed about 208 pounds in 1985 and was well into his 230's, if not 240's in the mid 90's, but it wasn't quality muscle gain.

This kind of reminds me of a YOUNG Casey Viator and was he later displayed in the early 80's. He lost that WOW factor.

Very narrow and arms about 2 inches long.
One wonders what he would have looked like without hormones.
Naturally, however, one cannot compare hormones with his physique now, as his line of products are (alledgedly ::)) the best around, and one (including himself) makes great gains when using them ::)
You are always harping on guys for being narrow. And not narrow from their own efforts but from having small clavicles. Who do you consider to have a great build nowadays or from any time period. Just askin

90 mr o was the start of the decline. Came in looking very blocky, missing the trademark detail and striations.

Yeah thats correct he got 4th or 5th off the top of my head @ the 89 O, and looked off @ the 90 Show, his last win i beleave as a pro was the first A/C show in 1989 where he was down somewhat in size but his trade mark condationing was very good

Yes, he was 4th in '89
1. Haney
2. Labrada
3. Vince Taylor
4. Gaspari

and 5th in '90:
1. Haney
2. Labrada
3. Shawn Ray
4. Christian
5. Gaspari

and I think he was out of the top five at the '91 Arnold.
