Why is the Bodybuilding scene all about conflict?
« on: October 30, 2009, 05:32:07 AM »
All the news in Bodybuilding is about this guy falling out with this guy, such and such taking shots at somebody. The whole of RX muscle is founded on drama, Valentino taking shots at someone, Romano taking shots at someone, Derek Anthony taking shots at someone. My theory is Bodybuilding attracts the insecure, people who feel they have little to offer so seek to create something positive about themselves because they have little else (in their eyes or be it fact). With this being the case everyone who reads about Bodybuilding likes to read about drama because it makes them feel somehow better.Thoughts?

sometimes we need to take responsability for the things we say on here

if it were real life and the people would be present would we say the same things ?

getbig should not be an outlet for all the negativity we have inside us

my 2 cents

Bobybuilding and MMA attract the critically insecure, that is their base. Lonely, displaced males, often white surburban males, who either aren't good at sports, academics, or both, and yearn for a place in society to prove their worth. These two avenues allow them to express their inner angst at a society that has devalued them. So this conflict is played out as them being a victim and them calling others out, who they percieve as reppin for the oppressor (those that they deemed less manly).

Or I could be wrong ;D

Yes, the close relative of the guy who woulda made it, if he hadn't of torn up his knee.  Also doubles as the reason for not doing squats.  When pressed you find out that the "injury" took place in JV tryouts.....

One can put all of the black competitors under the microscope and see what drives them.

Lack of a father figure in their lives, the quest for a white woman, disdain for their race...all are factors.  Add in the fact that most competitors have low IQs and not much schooling should also be included.

Unfornately no, they just have better gentics for it. Black competitors make up a small minority of actual competitors, and most of the people you see in gyms, hardcore or main stream are white, so are the ones who buy the supps. Weider himself said ha ing a white guy his covers sold more, why, because the buying public is white. That being said, the majority of the better bbers are black. One could make this comparison to the NBA or NFL. Also, lifting weights takes no smarts, people who deem themselves intelligent tend to over think things, and not make gains. Those people are not really intelligent, they have psuedo-intelligence, because if they were smart they would realize that "it's easy to make something complicated, hard to make something simple"

unfortunately not all black men desire white women. In this industry that is more of what you find, plus black women tend to distain overdone muscles, white women tend to look at black men like that as the stereotypical "Black Buck", also there are not as many black women in gyms as there are white women

Your theory is thus disproven, due to lack of evidence and common sense

Hope this helps

All points made are very valid but I still think all colored males yearn for a white woman...

  Anyways...

The bodybuilding scene is a cesspool of conflict, drama and stryfe. Let me give you all a quick glimpse of the bodybuilding sub-culture through the eyes of ol' Block...

 - John Romano thinks I hacked into his e-mail account and is making threats against me.

 - PJ Braun, Evan Centopani and others think "that Blockhead guy from Chicago" is an asshole and have been asking around to their contacts here for dirt on me.

 - The powers that be in the bodybuilding scene of Chicago(IL) dubbed me as the #1 Asshole and Enemy because I call their foul and refuse to kiss ass.

 - I was told that "the prez" is not happy with me for what I say on here and was told to keep my mouth shit if I ever plan on doing any damage on the national scene.

 - Many among the Chicagoland bodybuilding scene spread lies and rumors about me.

I keep on rockin'...and keep on rockin!   8)

The bodybuilding sub-culture is like highschool. Worse. Filled with bitches, liars, phonies and flakes.

   - Block!
