For us old geezers who remember, that is essentially what Bradshaw was.   I'm sure Earl would agree.

Agree.
But thats not what Ben is.. He is in a wierd place...He damn sure isnt a Managet a la Trent Dilfer...but i dont give him Brady Manning Breese Status either...

What about Rich Gannon with the Raiders....

He wasnt the Prolific Passer the top 3 were...but he was a guy that moved the chains...He scrambled when he had to, to get the deep ball. He also would pull it down and sprint for 8 yards...

One situation 3 different QB styles

Ok…so its 3rd-6 I – slot formation. Pass play, primary and secondary targets are covered.

Game Manager (Collins) looks for his check/safe route…maybe a swing out of the backfield and completes a 5 yard pass that is stopped…punt

Chain mover (Ben) might check backside but will tuck it and rumble for 8 yards…1st down

Baller (Brady) stands in the pocket, slides to the right and looks backside for the post and hits for 35 yards. Big play

Extra guy
Gun slinger (Favre) Force it via jumpball to primary target and hope for the best…lol

One of the problems with this is Collins throws the ball to the other team about as much as he throws it to his own players.  Can't be a game manager if you constantly turn the ball over.

I actually like raplisburger as a QB as much as I hate to admit it but he cant keep his current style much longer.

He is a big ass dude and can shrug off defenders and run for a couple yards now...but he is young.

He will get hurt sooner or later with his style, I cant tell you how many times he has stood in the pocket and shrugged off a defender to make a pass. As he gets older and the defenders get younger he will end up getting his ankle or knee hurt...mark my words

Agree. He almost got hurt fighting off a sack against the Saints. Three players were pulling him in three different directions as he was trying to avoid the sack. I really admire his ability to extend plays but that style will work against him as he hits his 30's.

6-2 and in first place. Short rest than play the Falcons on Thursday night.

Nice job by the Brownies over the Pats. There's a reality check for the Patriots. Stopping the run isn't so easy sometimes with a young defense.

YEAAAAA...

The Ravens DO NOT have a pass rush that is worth a flying fuck.......Our cornerbacks are absolute dogshit. I could care less about the Roddy White pushoff at the end. There were so many other things that caused our demise.

I can't blame our DB's in the passing game. It all starts upfront. If you can't put heat on the quarterback and give him all day to throw....it won't matter if you have Revis back there....you're going to give up pass plays and 3rd down conversions.

Just abysmal....I'd rather be shutout by the other team rather than lose that way....Fuck am I pissed we blew that game..... >:(

On the plus side...Flacco played well after the 1st quarter. He moved the offense in position to score when we needed it. But it's safe to say that the dominating days of the Ravens' defense are long over......

What is funny is that I don't get SI, but I was in the dentists office a couple of weeks ago and they had a big story about Newton and his dad talking about how his dads "tough love" approach helped get him in line, blah, blah, blah......then next thing I hear is this.

although much of it could be nonsense, when there is that much smoke there IS a fire......

Pats are a step behind the Steelers and Jets in the AFC. Truth.

Not anymore.

Giants owned by Dallas. Pats go to Pitt and take them to the woodshed.

Jets1a
Pats1b
Steelers
Colts
Ravens

yeah...the giants were not exactly owned. They put up yards. They just didnt put the ball in the endzone.

nvm.

If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle. Yards mean nothing, it's all about the points, and winning the game.

The Giants are clearly the second best team in the NFC (Falcons look like the best team as of right now). Dallas was just better that night.

Not taking anything away from the Giants, they are contenders for sure.

...you said they were owned.

stop it.

yes yards matter.

they had more yards on offense than the cowboys. rushing and passing. more first downs. 10 more infact.

if anything the giants owned themselves. 70 yards in penalties.

good game by the cowboys though, they did a complete 360 in their philospohy and execution.

-Don't cause yourself 70 yards in penalties and play disciplined football. I never got that excuse. The whole: "we had x amount of yards in penalties". Well, that's the players fault, and part of the equation. The good teams don't shoot themselves in the foot over and over. I'm not saying the Giants are a bad team, I'm just saying...
-Convert all those yards and first downs into points, because if you don't, they don't really matter. It's like my Patriots in 2007. Shattered every offensive record in history on the way to losing the sb to your Giants. Clearly the Pats were the better team, and several fluke plays led to their demise in that game, but it is what it is. Had they taken care of business early on it never would have come down to David Tyree or a missed int by Samuel. But they didn't so they lost.
-Score more points than the opposition

Neither team played much defense. I say the Giants got owned, because the Cowboys ran wild on them in their own house when the Giants where supposed to mop the floor with them.

As I said, clearly the Giants are a top team in the NFC. Just calling it like I see it.

Keep this shit about the Giants off my board!!!!!

Just kidding.....

Tom Brady once again owned the Steelers. The Tom Brady spike in the endzone was especially insulting to the Heinz field fans. I couldn't stop laughing after he did that.

Fuck ya. Troy tried to grind his head into the ground and Logan Mankins started looking for some Steeler punks to smash. I love the emotion that Brady showed last night and the spike was classic. The steelers are always talking shit and trying to dominate.

I was surprised to see the Steelers get bullied like they did. Pats lines dominated. I knew it was on when Ward got the taste knocked out of his mouth.

The entire steelers d line was getting pushed back. Casey Hampton was getting rag dolled by Koppen. Light was owning Harrison and Mankins was mauling in the run game. Add in guys like 6'6 Rob Gronwkowski, blocking and then releasing into the flat and you've got trouble in steel city.

Absolutely. It's going to come down to Atlanta and NY, and I'd take NY all day.

That's not an excuse though, everyone has injuries. Look at Eli's brother. That team is DECIMATED by injuries and they remain a top team in the AFC.

Brady was basically saying with that spike.....'this is my house and will always be my house'........I saw Troy dive his head in there trying to twist Brady's body back well after he crossed the goal line. The Patriot's O-line and D-line flat out dominated the Steelers.

At least the Ravens made their game with the Patriots competitive....
