When you live here, it's burned into your brain. You walk down on the wharf and will hear that saying about 50x an hour. It's like the greatest thing a tourist learns while here!
Another funny part of SF, you can always tell the tourists by who is wearing shorts on the bridge in the middle of summer. They probably just hopped off a plane and thought it would be the typical CA summer with lots of sun...then as the cold hits them and the goose bumps from the cold get them, I'm sure they're thinking about whether it's worth it to go back to the hotel and grab some pants and a layer or two more of sweaters!

Youngblood, you seem like a good guy so I'll ask a question.  Are you at least a little embarassed to say you are from San Franciso when people ask?  I mean, with the fruitcake reputation of the city and all.  I'm just asking.

Funny, I've spent quite a few winter nights in Sac and felt the same as you did in SF! That cold valley fog just lays there...and I nearly froze my ass to death...and I'm used to being in -20* freezers for work.
Couple of good coffee shops to hit next time you're here: Philz Coffee (multiple locations)- all brewed by hand, Blue Bottle I've been hearing about (I hope it's good since they'll charge up to $10 PER CUP!), and Cafe Trieste- the best traditional espresso I've ever had outside of Cuban coffee in Key West.

Key West has quite a few there too. I was down there on tour and it was Spring Break. All the females that were at my gig were extremely thankful that the band had come to town and that we were all straight.
That's also where I saw a 6'8" Rupaul impersonator with a voice like Barry White as I walked past the (TV I presume) strip club while walking around one night.
