Not that I want to speculate but if this guy, who was a muslim and didn't want to deploy had help...which they are saying at this point, he must have gotten his help either from other uniformed muslims or those off post.

There are alot of guys who get their medical loans repaid by Uncle Sam, so they come in. We need Vets, Dentists and Docs. They get automatic appoints to Captain or 03..not a navy captain. Our lawyers get the same. The Army does the same with Chaplains...I think they come in as 1Lts and Physicians assistants get either Warrant 2 or 1LT.

Going with HH6's doc...this guy had no deployments to Iraq and only one other post? So he has pretty much been at Fort Hood for a very long time. Going deeper, with the new found info this guy isn't the poster child for multi-deployment, extended tour PTSD that the media was probably frothing at the mouth to portray the military as.

Was he being deployed somewhere, though? If so, to which theater and in what capacity? Combat or desk job?

This outburst and attack, had to have outside help/planning etc. Info is shallow and slim but he doesn't fit the profile for wackjob or trigger happy mass murderer. He is educated and hasn't been deployed.

Of course, Fox has a guy on who actually worked with the animal who carried out this attack. Big shock= He held anti American views and made several comments that Muslims around the world should rise up against the American "aggressors".

Switching back, Matthews is trying to rationalize this barbaric act by highlighting how the scumbags Arab sounding last name may have subjected him to ridicule by his fellow soldiers and therefore may have caused him to snap.

He later goes on to suggest that the guy may have been deployed multiple times and that may have contributed to this violent outburst.

I just heard on Fox that this guy has always been Muslim according to the guys cousin who is on TV now-- ( big shock)

His cousin claims that being harrassed by his fellow soldiers led to the murder of 12 innocent unarmed people and the wounding of 30+ others.

Maybe Obama can issue an apology on behalf of the military to his family for the unconscionable abuse he took from his colleagues.

They have his cousin on...they said he didn't want to deploy because he's heard so many bad stories. He is a natural born citizen. I guess he enlisted out of High School but never deployed etc..sorta weird. He then went to school etc..and he would never have to kick doors when he to deployed which he was getting ready to do. I wonder if he was headed up to us. This guy would never leave the fob.

1 shooter, this guy did it all from what we know now. The other two people taken in custody were on the scene and were asked questions. They were not shooters.

This major is muslim and did not want to be deployed, it is reported he strongly disagreed with the war in Iraq. He was notified of his pending employment. There was a colonel on Fox minutes ago talking about this guy being a muslim sympathizer and he got into verbal confrontations with other soldiers after his comments in several situations. Sen Huchinson said it is reported the major shot several people he knew, possibly targeting them. His cousin (interviewed on Fox said he was being harassed but he got off the phone abruptly, which was odd). Some of the colonel's comments about what Hassan had reportedly said was very distrubing and pro-muslim/anti-American.

The killer worked at Walter Reid hospital for most of his career as a psychiatrist but was recently transferred to Fort Hood. It may be that this guy snapped because he got deployment notice. He had a recent poor performance evaluation. I hope more people that worked with the killer come forward to share more background info.

The only odd thing is that some reports say they heard more than 1 set of gun shots (the shooter had 2 handguns). I'm sure we'll hear more.

The guy is Dr. , correct, meaning PhD? So would that rule out enlisting after HS, becuase he's never been deployed. This mess is terrible, and since Im born and raised in Annapolis, this hits home as well, the stuff that goes down at Ft. Meade doesn't hit the papers

Yeah..they said he got into it with somebody while in line for the SRP. When we SRP it means its a sorta records and medical scrub. I went last week. U do ur Will, figure ur insurance dispersments, then they scrub ur medical records. If u need shots u get em..and they draw blood for HIV. They will find alot of dental issues and they get u into an appointment quickly. One of my folks got her wisdom teeth pulled during screening. Then u get ur "go" stamp and thats it. I find it hard to believe that some soldier randomly rolled up to him and gave him shit. Most joes don't talk to Officers.
