I heared different. But neverthless a great guy. He spends every year a few weeks or even months in Austria (flies in with is private jet of course) to take a cure in our city (no joke).

My dad has even seen him once in a betting shop, 2 huge bodyguards in black in front of the door and inside Abramovich betting on horses or shit like that lol.

That's very shady with most of these russian oligarchs. The fortune of most people who are that rich was earned through generations of their families. Some russians went from nothing to plenty billions (not millions; BILLIONS! To you knowledge, one BILLION is a 1000 Millions lol) within a few years. Don't know what's going on there.

This guy was just one of a few that got in early after the USSR fell and snapped up all the state run businesses, particularly the natural resources/energy, and made a bundle. How they did it wasn't all legit but money is power. Putin has reigned in a few of them.

I think because they got too uppity and thought their money/power allowed them to ignore Putin/gov't. He put one in jail (can't remember his name. he's still there) and this guy I think is now living in England. Owns Chelsea FC, I know that. So his exile is a soft one.

According to german wikipedia his fortune shrinked in 2007 from 23,5 billion $ to 3,3 billion $.
