if you don't like this music you are pretty much outed
« on: November 09, 2009, 03:50:04 AM »
Vader pretty much with Behemoth Hate and Decapitated are the finest polish trash/death metal bands out there, however I have been listening to Vader since I discovered them
back in 96 with their eitgh album Future Of The Past *my mother thought it was aweful which made it even better for me :P
I've been listening to vader pretty much all the time and they have an amazing record number - and not like many other deathmetal bands out there melowed out - they are still till this day extremly kick ass.
What I like about them most is that their music is very aggressive but still has rifs too it and not like other bands *Cannibal corpse *i know its a bad excample) are sometimes lost in craziness.

Here is a fine excample... This was first recoreded back in 2000 the album is called Litany - the track xeper was remastered in last years XXV album, enjoy.

BTW their lyrics are very good as well and not too corny like many other metal bands

A scarab beetle which toils through its phases
From an egg through a larva to the protector of the dawning Sun
Out of the Unmanifest into the Matrix of Manifestation
One word which opens the gates to the worlds

Knowledge-not information-grants transformative power
There are as many left hand paths as there are us-stars
The extension of existence to a further level of Being
By powers of the Set that releases from thrall

I have come into being
I have come into being

Meaning can only come from the individual
In the moments of divine clairvoyance and intensification of Being
The utterance of the word which ripples through the fabric of the world
And gives insight and strength to those who want to become

I have come into being
I have come into being

A scarab beetle which toils through its phases
From an egg through a larva to the protector of the dawning Sun
Out of the Unmanifest into the Matrix of Manifestation
One word which opens the gates to realities

As far as the European scene goes for Death Metal no one will probably ever touch Bolt Thrower or the early stuff from the Stockholm bands.  Necrophagist are great if you like the techy stuff.

Spent yesterday aft revisiting The Kink's 'Something Else.' Musta listened to it 3x. Really well crafted album from a now sorta neglected band. That's my music recommendation for today: dig into your collection and give The Kink's some serious listening.  :)

/gonna listen to 'face to face' today

Bolt Thrower is great but I think overall Vader is much better on a lot of levels - but it comes down to taste and we can argue until we go blue.

I only enjoy listening to such music right before a heavy lift or going for a new personal best on a givin lift...
The guys that listen to that shit all the time are overcompensating and insecure....there mommy and daddy prob didn't huge them enough when they was growing up.they appear angry but are actually just scared hollow little boys on the inside...

No-one's ever impressed with my cool story that my band Phallicide supported and met Vader hah. But we did  :D They were super tight, made us look like kids, which we were. Vae Solis and Centurion supported too.

My mate's in Onslaught, who played recently with Behemoth, apparently they are nice guys. I liked them when they supported Nile on the Black Seeds tour, awesome thrashy style with windmill hair. Although one of many bands that draws so much from Slayer it's untrue. Vader do too actually.

I also agree with Lats McGee that the Stockholm bands from the early 90s are hard to beat. They sound kind of derivative now, even though they started it all, but At The Gates, In Flames etc are all awesome! Interesting how Unearth et al now fuse big melodic bits into their scene-core image. Bodom are cool too. I thought of Alexi Laiho when someone said in the "11 year old" thread about "playing to rooms full of men, marrying an Asian chick who's stuck in the 90s and getting a signature pick up" hahahaha. His wife is a big Asian 90s- looking beast of a woman! He is great though.

I also have a soft spot for all the power metal sh!t like Lost Horizon, Hammerfall etc. Lost Horizon in particular look like they subscribe to the Manowar/Kane Roberts from Alice Cooper bodybuilding-metal image haha.

dont know vader too much...but im a lot into Behemoth for the last months...Their last 2 albums are killers, and the new one seems to be incredible judging by the single they released...

Nergal is really a great frontman (while his death grow is not my favorite) and Inferno is really developing as one (if not THE) best drummer of the style on the planet. Speed he has always had but he is getting a lot more creative and experimental with his grooves and use of symbols

Hey Chick, probably the millionth time you've heard this, but I saw 'I Love You Man' at the weekend, I thought the bit with you in was cool, good to see a bodybuilder get in a major film like that. I attempted to impress my girlfriend by saying we argue with the same morons on the same stupid board hahaha, don't know if she thought I was cool or not haha, any more film parts lined up?

try Vader - pm me and I hook you up with some links before you make your mind up to buy them - its not my favourite band but one of the Top 5 for sure.
I've seen them in Dublin (2 years ago I believe) and they are very good live as well - if you can go see them.

Umm - At The Gates and In Flames are Gothenburg scene. Stockholm is Grave, Dismember, Entombed, Unleashed. So much for your metal cred.
