I'm not saying im against it, im saying that is the reason that a punishment like that will never happen. It goes against the 8th Amendment. That is a fate worse than death. No light, no human contact, not knowing what day or even year it is. After a week you would be begging for the needle.

I'm quite impressed they actually killed him so quick - normally I hear about guys on death row in the US being there for 20+ years - I mean, what the fuck are they waiting for?

I think it is a deterrent and they should bring the death penalty in in the UK for the worst offenders whom it can be proved that they were the killer(s) beyond any reasonable doubt. We're too soft in the UK on criminals - most of them get 10 years for murder and they're out in five for good behaviour to go back out on the streets and kill again.
