Bodybuilding vs MMA
« on: November 11, 2009, 07:18:02 AM »
I guess you could do both half-arsed but to do one properly you would have to drop or sevely tone down the other

Bodybuilding
Pros: Girls love muscle (here anyway),being strong is great, eat as much as you like, big arms are every guys dream to have
Cons: Gear costs quite a bit, cardiovascularly unfit, restrictive lifestyle, training can sometimes be a pain in the ass

MMA
Pros: Great fun to do,makes you incredibly fit, learning something new every session, healhier lifestyle
Cons: Lose a lot of your muscle, get niggling injuries quite a bit

Ive given this alot of though, and being so short while weighing like 75kg, boxing would just be a Nightmare against 185+ cm dudes..

then again, I cant even jog, so that sucks lol.

Why not do MMA so,grappling takes away the reach advantage that tall fighters thrive on

Ive done submission wrestling, but doing my own retarded warmup when everyone else can just jog around in circles was getting fucking annoying, cant go outside for a jogging cardio session or anything, and if the legs gets in a strange angle while on the ground, the pain can go from nothing to feeling like the leg is about to explode in 0.5 sec

without any training I beat every single of the ju jutsu #### though :D , BJJ is good, but normal JJ is useless.
And no one could take me down, not even the 250+ pound dudes.

haha I feel like onlyme  ;D

Is it in the front of your lower leg, right along the bone?

yep =), on both sides, I got a thing to put inside the shoe, to relieve the pain, but it didn't help.

Bodybuilding is the better lifestyle IMO as long as you don't go nuts and take it too seriously like entering contests and all that shit.

With MMA you're just asking to have your face rearranged and call me lame but that kinda doesn't appeal to me - especially when your face is as beautiful as mine.

Not every bodybuilder who lifts, competes. In fact, most don't.

Not really, here in Ireland the fights are mostly amateur, which is no strikes to the face on the ground
Its great fun training MMA,even if you never fight I reckon

Are you suggesting I should try doubling my medication?

Shin splints...I got them in high school when I ran track..

Swede doesn't run and said when he does the pain starts in about 4 secs after running. True shin splints take along time to develop..

Again, maybe or maybe not compartment syndrome

True - seeing as I've never tried MMA training I can't really compare the two accurately - got a mate though who goes to a club and they learn all the grappling and jiu jitsu stuff and he loves it and always says I should come along and give it a go.

by girls do you mean gays, not that there's anything wrong with that. mma not to mention broken bones and diminished mental capacity esp for those who can ill afford to lose any.
