Democrats Rejected 11 Amendments Forcing Congress to Enroll in Obamacare

CNSNews is reporting that the Democratic leadership rejected 11 amendments to the healthcare bills that would have required Congress to suffer under the same onerous healthcare legislation the they would force upon the rest of the country.

Republicans offered various schemes, some that would require only Congress to join Obamacare, some that would require even members of the Supreme Court, the president, the vice president and other federal employees to give up their generous Federal Employees Health Benefit Program.

    “If Congress forces our constituents into a public option plan over time, then members of Congress should be expected to do the same,” Rep. Howard McKeon (R-Calif.) told CNSNews.com.

It is curious that Democrat members of Congress can sit there in Washington with a straight face and tell us lowly voters that Obamacare is best for us, yet steadfastly refuse to force themselves to exist under that same plan.

If Obamacare is so wonderful, why exactly are Democrat Congressmen so averse to suffering the same fate as the voters? It is obvious that they know the truth about Obamacare. It is a disaster and they know it. Otherwise, why would they fight so hard to stay out of it?

That's too bad the libs are cowering from this thread.  I'd really like to hear their thoughts on this.  They want to push this off on everyone in the country, but the congress gives themselves a free pass?

TRICARE is such a wonderful system...u should all have to suffer. The big problem is that with my plan...it doesn't drive doctors out and the level of care is great once u get to the actual care. Once we all have it....not only will getting appointments be impossible...the docs will suck as well.

Let's ignore how wealthy many of them are and that paying for insurance wouldn't cause any financial hardship. Someone like John Kerry, for example, is extremely wealthy.

What is so frustrating is that the people screaming for "health care reform" have no understanding of any of the details of these horrific bills and refuse to even discuss or debate anything.

You really can't expect people to logically debate emotional issues.

Some honest discussion on affordability and infrastructure would be nice on any level.

Politicians are all whores, 33. Every last one of them. They'd rather say "look, I did something" and argue over ideology than protect Americans long term.

I'm for healthcare. My only concern is doing it a manner that is sustainable and fair to all citizens. Unless costs are cut first and the delivery methods are significantly improved, yet simplified, it just won't work.

I'd argue any reasonable person would be concerned about growing the national debt that much in a shrinking economy.

I have not seen even one decent post, article, argument, or anything from anyone supporting PelosiCare as to how, why, or in what fashuion these monstrosities will work.

doc, I agree with you.  I think the entire country could be better served by "fixing" the current system, instead of just nuking everything and starting over.  There are a myriad of issues to be discussed....everything from the strain that illegals and uninsured currently put on the system to why people are allowed to used emergency rooms as their "primary care" provider?  There are far too many and complex issues to just ramrod thru the current plan and hope like hell it works!

Any real change in healthcare delivery requires conversations people can't afford (politically) to have.

Politicians probably figure a bad bill is worse than losing power.
