he does in fact speak english.

If you watched "The Longest Yard" remake with Adam Sandler, you would know that he does speak English. He speaks it poorly, and it's hard to understand him, so much so, that they had to subtitle his lines because it's extremely hard to decipher what he's actually saying.

Hmmm but I wonder if that is due to his poor english abilities or the fact he is a giant.  Remember how difficult it was to understand Andre?  And Big Show is a little better, but still kinda has that giant speech thing going on.

Good point that you bring up. I remember the director saying that Khali took English lessons for like 6 months prior to filming, but still had to be subtitled. The director said he avoided Khali during the premier, because Khali is the only one that has subtitles in the entire film.
Now I'm really curious if their voices are compromised somehow due to their height/size. ???

Ok because someone has Giantism does not make speech difficult...not like they have a huge tongue......Khali is Indian and Andre was French....English was their 2nd language. Case closed. I met Paul Weight in Gold's Gym in Tampa years ago...big dude, hands like catchers mits and spoke perfect.....hmm...wonder why...

Oh Yes...because he's American!

Vocal cord fixation is probably due to hypopharyngeal and laryngeal soft tissue swelling and can be reversible after successful treatment of the adenoma.

Résumé / Abstract
The fundamental frequency of 14 patients undergoing hypophysectomy was studied. Eight patients had acromegaly, 3 had a prolactinoma, and 3 had nonfunctioning adenomas. The fundamental frequency of 22 normal, healthy volunteers was measured for comparison. In addition, the external size of the larynx of all patients and volunteers was measured and a relationship between external laryngeal size and the mean fundamental frequency was identified in the volunteers. The mean fundamental frequency in patients with acromegaly was significantly lorver than the other 6 patients undergoing hypophysectomy and, in addition, was also lower than the 22 normal volunteers
