Very true many forget that PCT is for returning to natural. This can be a one year commitment if someone really wants to get back a healthy natty system. that's why PCT is pointless for the guy who really just has short breaks (less then 3 months) they might as well cruise on low dose test until ready to go back to boring, old homeostasis.
I sort of look at PCT as giving you a running start through the recovery period, hopefully keeping the time brief when natty test is low or gone until you can start making some again yourself. too much PCT especially HCG will keep you shut down so the limbo period starts when the HCG stops. At that point nolva or clomid would be the choice for a while.
I agree with just about everything you have posted in this thread about taking time off. For the most part, taking 4 weeks off is actually worse for you than staying on, unless you are having some kind of serious medical problem.
What most people fail to realize is that PCT and recovery is a very long process. Even after PCT your body is still out of whack from not only AAS, but from PCT itself. PCT is not natural and to really "fully recover" from a large cycle takes 6-8 months. When i came off a few years ago my natural test did not come back for 8 months and i did a very long and well thought out PCT protocol. For the average gear user there should be an extended time off period every year to fully recover, but one must realize that the majority of their gains will go out the window as well. anyone who is seriously cycling to compete or get really jacked is going to almost need to cruise or bridge at times, that is just the way it is unless you have the best genetics in the world.
i remember FreakfestMD said he cycled 6 months on, 6 months off and i think there is a lot of truth behind this protocol for a casual gear user who wants to maintain health to the highest degree and prevent any problems in the future, but nothing is fool proof in this game as we know.
500mg a week is not a large cycle, but before jumping into anything more serious than that, a person must first make up their mind if they are in this for good or just for a few cycles, because there is no in between. you either cycle casually and take time off equal to time on, or you blast and cruise with your fingers crossed. either way people need to understand more about AAS and how they effect the body and even PCT products disrupt natural test production in some fashion.
