I just got a new Braun shaver. Not sure of exact name though. Pretty good so far. I get real irratated around my neck when i shave, so i'm always getting new ones it seems. Hopefully this one will be good.

edit: It is a Braun Series 7 - 790 (whatever the fuck that means)
No doubt about it...

LOL, its obvious you and everyone else that has commented is young.  Electric is shit.  I use a two blade razor and it works fine for me.  It's all about knowing how to shave.

Yes, i am young. I actually go through phases of doing both. For a while i will use a razor, then go back to the electric shaver and back again.

No matter what i do or use, i get really irritated around my neck. and when you have to shave everyday, electric just seems a bit more softer or more gentle on irritated skin.
No doubt about it...

most people don't know how to use a razor correctly so they get cuts and give up and go to electric.  A wet shave will be better than any electric shave.  You first need to soften the beard with either a pre shave oil or use some moisturizer over your face.  Then get a towel and put it in hot hot water.  Squeeze it out and lay down and let it sit on your face for 3 - 5 minutes.  Then apply your shaving cream and you will have a very smooth and close shave.

a good shave takes around 20 minutes.  use a mach3 or 2 blade Gillette or you can go for the newer 5 blade one.  Electrics don't give you the type of shave that a real shave does.  Shaving has been done for years with razors, and they are the best way.  Most older men use razors, younger guys seem to opt for the electric for some reason, fathers not teaching their sons about proper shaving technique sad.

HUH? So now we're summing up good parenting on shaving? People have lives, busy ones at that... Who has 20 mins. to shave? Your dad should have taught you, that there are very, very good electric razors out there..

Who gives a rats ass how close the shave is.  There is going to be stubble again in a few hours - so really what is the point of your 20 min exotic shave?  Waste of time.

Maybe you are like Trey Brewer and see the value in going to a barber shop to get your head shaved 3x week.  LOL

That is a long process to shave. Easier to just take a shower do it after you get out. Most people cannot shave everyday with a razor due to different ethnic groups hair types so going electric or clippers is the only option for daily shaving.

Here is a secret the razor companies don't want you to know...Blades don't dull by shaving...Its the water/steam that breaks down a blade and makes it dull...You could literally use the same razor for 6 months and it would be as good as new if you do two simple things after shaving...

1. DRY THE BLADE COMPLETELY AFTER USING IT...You can wipe it down with a towel and then take a Q-tip and really get it dry or run a blow dryer over it for a minute or so...

2. STORE YOUR BLADE IN A DRY PLACE AWAY FROM THE BATHROOM/STEAM

optional

If you do feel its losing it sharpness over time, take an old pair of blue jeans and run the blade over the jeans quick 10 times in each direction...
