Probably, but the cop in him told him not to. Ronnie was different.

I used to have an old issue of MD (from around 1991 I think) that named his delts the greatest ever, but I have yet to see any good shots of his shoulders.

By asking this question you are assuming that he wasnt ALREADY pushing the drug envolope as much as the next guy.  It also assumes that the only significant difference between the winner of a major show and the rest of the field is that most times the winner was simply the guy willing to push the drug envolope more.  For all we know he could have been pushing the envolope already and decided to retire cause he still couldnt win the big despite pushing the envolope.  The point is you cannot tell just by looking at him HOW MUCH he was pushing the envolope and assume that he was being conservative and assume he would have done so much better if he had upped his doses or whatever.

He did look pretty damn good though.  He competed at 6'0 and 220 which is a fantastic look.

Chances are he was already pushing the "drug envelope". These guys weren't going about it half-assed, even in those days - you can bet your life that they were messing with everything they could get.

Probably, but the cop in him told him not to. Ronnie was different.

the cop in him
told him to be a criminal
which is why he spent time in prison
