lol, and what they were so worried about?  I mean so what if she was going to have an issue with the Olympics which she wasn't going to do.  Big deal, I doubt many would have taken a talk like that so serious it would harm the Olympics lol...  What's next?  Maybe Canada can start banning websites like China. :D

Take a look at who our Prime Minister is... a hair up his ass? There's a man who constantly looks like he's trying to hang onto a greased bb pellett. What kind of moron wears a 3 piece suit onto a fishing boat for a photo-op?

I'm sure her arrest at the Republican National Convention in Aug 2008 got her name on some kind of list.

ps: If you were a Conservative hell-bent on trying to take your country down the path of neo-conservatism, ...you'd be afraid of Amy Goodman too.  :P

sorry, like China does.  forgot one fucking word.  I'll take your points on the rest, but it's pretty extreme, you guys better be fixing that.  Several years back, Canada was a country that could never let it happen there because they were "more informed" than Americans hahaha...  remember...

Ya... I realized you were missing only one word, ...but I had to jump on it. When you make as few slips ups as you, ...a gals gotta jump when she see's the opportunity. There's no telling when it'll come around again.

And I stand by my position. As a whole, we Canadians are far more informed than Americans.
Always were, always will be.  ...and we're a lot thinner & fitter, and healthier too   :-*

I make a lot of slip-ups actually.  But on this board, as you can see, I don't have anything to worry about, so I don't :D  Your position as I remember was that it couldn't happen there because "Canadians are more informed"  Sorry, gotta call oops on you with stuff like this happening.  terrible...  Amy on the Canadian watchlist and told to take a hike in short order Bwhahahahaha...

What are you talking about? Every country has lists. Some call it a record, but everyone has a history of some sort and if their names are prominent for whatever reason, they will pop up. remember, they at least let her into the country. They didn't have to do that. Every country has the right to protect it's borders and refuse entry to undesirable elements. Perhaps they considered Goodman and the controversy she brings as an undesireable element not particularly wanted or need within Canada. {shrug} ... Furthermore, while we do have a fabulous country, we are not immune from having the occasional jackass in a position of power & authority. Maybe the Canada Customs agent was having a bad day. Right now Vancouver is obsessed with the Olympics. Have been for ages. It hard for them to believe that anyone isn't as consumed with it as they are... Besides, they may not have known who she was. Canadians get accurate news from local msm. We have no need for a "Democracy Now" because our journalists haven't forgotten what their jobs are.... and we have 22 mins and Royal Canadian Air Farce for those who don't like watching the news.  :P

...and they did the same thing to Louis Farrakhan as well. They might just do the same to you when all hell breaks loose south of our mutual border and we see hordes of Murican refugees clamoring to get to a place where sanity and civility prevail.

I don't see the problem.  He should be booted from America too and sent back to whatever rock he came from.

What has he said that you find so annoying? Despite him being a Muslim his entire speeches regardless of where he is is centered around the Bible, so he is more Christian than Muslim.

I don't see the problem.  He should be booted from America too and sent back to whatever rock he came from.

After detaining him for 3.5 hrs and searching through every law in the land, they couldn't find a legitimate reason or loophole to keep him out, so they let him in to give his talk. He spoke to a crowded convention hall ...standing room only... thousands were turned away at the door, but heard the talk through loud speakers broadcasting outside.

There were people of every race and religioin in attendance... including jews wearing yarmulkes. Reading the body language of the Jews at the start... they appeared stiff, braced and ready for battle. By the end of the night... some most of these same Jews were standing on chairs cheering his every word, ...and were extremely happy they chose to attend and hear him for themselves.

The next day in the newspapers, there were pictures of empty row after empty row. the photographer took photos of the convention hall before the crowd was given entrance, ...and the story told of a speech given to a near empty room, filled with vitriolic anti-semitism. All I could say was WoW!!!

I too I was glad I chose to attend and hear him speak with my own ears rather than getting the info from the newspaper. He never uttered a single anti-semitic remark in that talk, and he spoke strictly about the ills plaguing society, and the responsibility we must take to improve society.  He also spoke of the corruption and spiritual wickedness in high places, that he had witnessed. He did single out one specific racial/ethnic group... blacks. he had some very harsh critique to deliver to the black community as well as words of encouragement for how to do better, and how to be better.

pssst: Louis Farrakhan is American... born and bred. The rock to which you refer is the good old US of A.  :D
Funny how you say he came out from under a rock. Malcolm X was fond of saying: "We didn't land on Plymouth Rock, ...Plymouth Rock landed on us."

yea, I knew he was born here ::)  That's why I said rock and didn't name a country.  I don't care what you do with the rock once he's sent back to it, toss it out to sea for all I care.  And I only believe 10% of the rest of what you told me.  I suppose this is your brand of false Islam?

I'm not preaching Islam... false or otherwise. he wasn't discussing islam or his Nation of Islam. He was discussing the social, moral, and economic ills of North America and what we as individuals can do to better ourselves & society as a whole.

what does that have to do what what he is or what he represents?  You're judging a man by one speech?  I cannot fathom why you would think it ok to leave out the rest, especially when some of the worst of it comes from his stated core beliefs.  Would you erase everything Bush did on one good talk?  I actually think he's right with some of the stuff he says.  Some of it he is spot on with.  Does that negate the bullshit he believes?  Hell no...

I'm not judging the man. I'm merely stating what I heard him say that night. It is clear to me that the media cannot be trusted to accurately report what he says... as such any knowledge gleaned about his core beliefs have to come from his own lips. I don't think posting a clip of Elijah muhammed is a fair representation of Louis Farrakhan. As for whatever BS he believes in... I don't know what that is. I haven't heard him speak enough times to gain an understanding of his beliefs... other than the issues he spoke about that night in Toronto in 1995 or 1996. I will tell you one thing... Canada has laws against hate speeches and those who make them. Non citizens who utter hate speeches do not gain entry into this country, as discovered by Ernst Dzundel first hand when he briefly left the country and couldn't get back in... despite all the property he owned her and the life he'd established here for years. Canadian authorities however, were unable to find examples of Farrakhan's violation of the hate speech law that would have precluded his visit to Toronto... as hard as they tried, he was not in violation of any laws.

I will grant you some of the things he has said can be considered highly controversial and downright offensive. It's just as offensive to be told you are the result of a genetic experiment derived from spliced pig flesh as it is to be told you are the descendant of a monkey.
