mayweather is going to win a unanimous decision.

like him or hate him, he is the best and fastest boxer, with great defensive skills- so hard to hit with a clean punch.

yes, manny is fast and has KO power and hits from unorthodox angles but mayweather will give him a boxing lesson.

Basically all the negros are picking Mayweather and asians picking Pacquiao. Interesting!
Is it any different than when Blacks fight Mexicans? You must be new to boxing.  :D

Sorry but you can't compare Corrales with Pacquiao ,they aren't in the same league .

This fight will go 12 rounds, Mayweather will win a decision (maybe split).
Mark my words ,this is coming from a Golden Gloves champion w/ 30-5-5 record.

u wee a good boxer?

Why did he come in way over the weight limit? Unfair advantage. More or less cheating??? Now should Mayweather be seriously penalized if he doesn't make weight against Manny?

very good point...and something I can see mayweather trying to pull in this fight....In MMA if you don't make weight your opponent gets 20% of your purse....since Floyd is all about the money I imagine that would deter him from purposely not making weight to seek an advantage.....However I'm sure him & his camp would not agree with a stipulation like that.....

It will be interesting to see the weight they fight at & if Floyd abides by that....No one remembers if a guy made weight as much as they remember who won the fight....I can definitely see Floyd seeking an unfair advantage in this regard...

And Oscar didn't win the first 6 rounds against Mayweather? And Judah didn't win the first 5 rounds against Mayweather? Mayweather has just been promoted correctly. Why did he fight Marquez and not a legit Welter? Promotion to fight Manny. Why did he come in way over the weight limit? Unfair advantage. More or less cheating??? Now should Mayweather be seriously penalized if he doesn't make weight against Manny? It's not that I don't like Floyd. I just don't see him as one of the greatest.

Floyd did lose some of the earlier rounds to Hatton, Zab and Oscar.  But are you so foolish that you can't see that he often gives away rounds in the start of a fight, to feel out his opponent?  Again you're taking shots at Mayweather's credibility with little thought to what you're actually saying.

Yes you're right, he obviously fought Marquez in anticipation for a showdown with Manny - nuttin wrong with that.

I highly doubt that a Mayweather v Pacquiao showdown will take place at anything other than the official welterweight limit.
I understand why Manny wanted to secure every advantage possible against Cotto - BUT now he is a champion, I think it would be silly of him to insist on defending his title in a particular division, but refuse to fight at the said weight division limit.

Think with your head and not with your heart. Am I missing something? Isn't one of Mannys main strategies to pile up 10-8 rounds at the beginning of every single one of his fights? Or am I watching some other Filipino? Am I the one thats not seeing things correctly here? Hey I've been called asshole many times in life but never moron. I'm betting with my head here. Don't underestimate this Manny Pacquiao. This guy is dangerous! It won't suprise me if Mayweather beats him. But I do believe Manny is gonna take the TKO victory then retire.

Pacquiao may win--- but c'mon dude

A TKO over Mayweather?

He may catch him with a knock out blow or eek out a decision, but Floyd is way too skilled, way too conditioned and way too fast to get TKO'd.

I fear this will be a 12-round snoozer because of Mayweather’s unwillingness to mix it up; but a win is a win.  Pacquiao will have to do something really special to win, I think.

I'm not much of a boxing fan. But, where exactly is the honor in intentionally getting punched in the mouth?

The object of boxing (unless I'm mistaken) is to KNOCK OUT your opponent, while avoiding the same fate yourself.

when people say mayweather is faster, i just don't see it.  pacquiao has what I consider unmatched handspeed and by far the most innate ability to punch hard from strange angles and incredibly quick feet.  Mayweather will have his hands full, he could avoid De la Hoya and out box him, but he won't be able to avoid Pacman for 12 rounds without being forced to open up, which means he will be getting hit and hit hard.

Freddie Roach is an incredible trainer and simply will make sure Manny is properly trained for this fight.  Manny wins by UD or late round stoppage.

I don't like Mayweather, but before Pacquiao emerged the past few years I did have him atop my P4P list.  He is an excellent boxer, but he's never been in there with someone like Pacquaio and everyone here knows it, and we all know Pacquiao is dangerous.

I cannot wait!

i am a boxing fan, and this will help boxing and make tons of money for both fighters and camps, that being said however boxing is on a downward spiral some true great heavyweights have to step up. don't these basketball players and football players know they can make more money in one night than they could for their whole seasons, think about that shaq, rey lewis and countless others. i'm starting to sound like bob hoffman when he complained that all the great potential weightlifters are opting for other sports.

Good post Jamie....I'm not shitting on Pacman at all, he's a great fighter.

I'm going with Mayweather because i think he can outbox Pacman and win a decision.

That being said....I wouldn't be shocked if manny just kicks the shit out of him.

they are both great

LAS VEGAS (AP)—Promoter Bob Arum flew Wednesday to the Philippines with a proposed contract for a March 13 fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr.

The contract was agreed to by Mayweather’s representatives, but the boxer has yet to sign. Arum was to present the proposal to Pacquiao, but there are no guarantees he will agree.

Still, the fact Arum would make the trip to the Philippines to try and get his fighter to sign for the bout was an indication that the megafight was moving forward. It would match the two fighters regarded as the best pound-for-pound in the world in a bout at 66.7 kilograms (147 pounds).

The fight was originally projected for May, but Pacquiao’s candidacy for Congress in the Philippines forced promoters to move it forward to March. The Philippine national elections are in May, and Pacquiao wanted to be at home to campaign.

Promoters for both fighters had agreed to a blackout on negotiations for the bout, so no one would comment on the record. A person close to the promotion spoke on terms his identity would remain confidential.

If the fight is made, there would likely be a Jan. 11 press conference in New York to announce it. The bout could be the richest ever, assuming pay-per-view projections are accurate.

Representatives of the Superdome in New Orleans and the new Dallas Cowboys’ stadium have expressed interest in hosting the fight, as has the MGM Grand hotel-casino in Las Vegas, where the fighters have fought their biggest fights. There is also a proposal for a 30,000-seat temporary stadium on the Las Vegas Strip across from the Wynn resort.

Oddsmakers are already taking bets on the fight, with most making the undefeated Mayweather a slight favorite.
