while all the cars in this thread wouldn't be taken for granted if driven/owned/were within purchase ranges for us all .. i do believe that in elitist terms the dodge viper handles like a piece of shit although im not sure what the ACR kit/mods do for it and i certainly cbf - regardless of this it is a very nice looking car.

The Ring is a track that taxes the limits of a cars handling if it handled like shit it wouldn't be that fast around one of the most grueling race tracks ever devised.

i'm not 100% but when talking about standards/extremes im somewhat certain that the nurburgring is the only one to quote when talking about prestige performance

Gumpert was started by Roland Gumpert who was part of the original Audi WRC program, responsible for the Quattro coupes in Rallying. And also Roland Mayer, who is a Audi tuner. That 4.2 liter V8 is the same that is in the R8 and the same that was in the RS4.

I'm no fan of Fords or American cars in general nowadays but this Taurus looks kind of interesting.  They compare it above the Audi.

Corvette Z06 and ZR1 and the Viper Acr surprised the hell out the Euros. Plus the Viper had been winning it's class in Le Mans the Gt2 class from the 90's to the early 2000's. Then the Corvette GTRs took over, beating and besting Lambo's RGT, the Aston Martin DBSRs, Ferrari 550/575 GTRs, Saleens. So the Americans can make sports Cars, but there is a love affair with the muscle car.

One of the main reasons why American really lacks exceptional
sports cars is because in he 50's the marques had banned sports car racing or racing altogether, don't know why. But the Ford T-bird was spanking the hell out of the first gen Corvettes. In 1958 Ford made the T-bird a 4 place car, stating that there was no future for 2 seat sports cars. Well, they sealed the T-bird's fate. The Corvette went on to evolve into a world beater and the T-bird no longer exists. And there is the other reason why America's sports cars don't do so well, piss poor upper management who have no forethought, or are only interested in the bottom line.
Funny thing is, the Fords in Europe handle far better and are of a better quality than their counterparts here. Ford of Europe has better or higher standards. And so does GM's Euro arm, Opel.
