333, if I was in NYC, I would have joined you.  Forcing a civilian trial in NYC is so f-cking stupid.  It's all about the leftist agenda to reverse the Bush/Cheney treatment of terrorist prisoners.

Good, the next time we have something like this you can come by.  Of course everyone is welcome to come to.

U.S. trial unlikely for 9/11 suspect Mohammed: report Sat Nov 13, 2:21 am ET

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The self-proclaimed mastermind of the September 11, 2001, attacks probably will remain in military detention without trial for the foreseeable future, The Washington Post reported on Saturday, citing Obama administration officials.

The administration has concluded that it cannot put Khalid Sheikh Mohammed on trial in federal court in New York City because of opposition from members of Congress and local officials, the Post said.

There is also little support within the administration for a military prosecution at the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, over concerns it would alienate liberal supporters, the paper reported.

Mohammed was captured in Pakistan in 2003 and has been imprisoned at Guantanamo.

The administration asserts that it can hold Mohammed and other accused al-Qaeda operatives under the laws of war, a principle that has been upheld by the courts when Guantanamo detainees have challenged their detention.

Maybe it's not about protesting at all? Maybe it's for the same reason Bush didn't put him on trial either?

Maybe Obama's camp looked at the trouncing they took in the mid terms, and decided that with so much controversy, ...even with a conviction, they'd never see a 2nd term, ...or worse... without usable evidence, there stands a chance of acquittal? Maybe they felt they needed to get a few thousand more combat ready troops out of Afghanistan and back into the states to maintain order when the poop hits the fan in the event of an acquittal. Better to just throw him on ice indefinitely, and let someone else deal with the hot potato?

Precisely.

Nobody here can answer why he wasn't prosecuted in the 2nd Bush term, why he wasn't allowed to plead guilty.  Can't they just let him keep bouncing around til he hangs himself or soemthing?

I heard a long thing on this morning on he radio.  Apparently KSM wanted to plead guilty but there were a bunch of do gooders who jammed it up in the system on legal issues.  I'll try to get the interview later.

Either way - I'm glad Obama/Holder, piss be upon both of them, got smacked the shit out of on this.

if there's one thing that none of us doubted, it's your resolve for hating obama.

I never wake up in the morning and say "Hey, I bet 33 is softening up on obama today!"
