Oh god! Amr Diab did not just make it on Getbig! The site is going down!

I've watched him perform twice, and sat next to him on a plane from London to Cairo once. Sooooooooooo overrated!

Although one time I did pose to that second song listed!

hi bro., in what sense you mean he is overrated!!.. i am not a big fan of him but his career is the best among all arab singers, the man has been on the top for about 25 years now!!.. you cant be on the top all this time if you are not good enough!..

Sherif, I agree with you he's been on top for 25 years now, but his old music was awesome, his new music is terrible and many will agree. He started copying Ricky Martin and went down hill.

Maybe I'm just not a fan of arabic music, but I do believe he is overrated.

Plus he has no freaking competition, look here in the US, there is always someone new coming in the picture so the old dogs have to stay ontop of their game and get creative to last.

With Amr Diab no fucking competition whatsoever, so he can release whatever he wants and people will still worship him!

i agree that his older albums were better than the recent ones but overall IMO he has the best career of any arab singer.. his pobularity is comparable to that of abd el halim

and again i am not a big fan of him..

Paco's part seems lower in the mix than on the CD version, which is a shame, but it's the same performance at least, i.e. the best existing version. Dimeola's no slouch, although obviously not a classical player at least using a pick means he can do those incredible fast runs. What Paco's playing is sort of classical-style jamming anyway, kind of a cool accessible-isation of flamenco for non-purists.

I always felt bad for McLaughlin he doesn't feature on this the best track!
