How does Ground Bison taste? I saw some at the store, just a few, and I was thinking of getting some. Heard it was leaner than ground beef. But I want to know how it tastes before I get it.

tiny bit sweeter than beef....a tad dryer. all in all.....its good. eat it!

Well, since the american buffalo is the same as the American bison, I can assume it would taste the same.

I thought it was good, but definitely different than beef. The couple of times I've had it, the flavor did not seem as 'hearty' as beef is to me.

It's way more hearty then beef. Unless your eating beef tenderloin? With beef all your tasting is the fat. Buffalo is way more lean, tough, and gamery tasting. Marinate it and season it well before cooking it to medium rare. Don't push it any further then that or it will be way to dry.

I tried some Elk jerky the other day...it was a little oily but overall it tasted pretty decent.

the first time i had them, i wished i bought regular beef instead. I had to get used to it.

but the 2nd time i really liked the bison

It is similar to venison in my experience. A little dry for my tastes, but tastier than say chicken or turkey!

I’ve had some great bison burgers – just make sure it’s been properly maintained temperature-wise, as it can become gamey.

its good, but overrated....i would get it to say you tried it. the taste is barely noticeable over beef.

Delicious... but not terribly lean. Ground bison is alot fattier than regular buffalo steak. But it's great cooked up with some red onion over rice.
