1) WTF is this guy talking out of school like this for?
2) I guess she wasn't going to win hawaii anyway, but it won't bode well for "minority types" in the other 48 states...


 little-noticed paragraph in the latest New Yorker review of Sarah from Alaska (and Sarah Palin's Going Rogue) reveals that Palin's father told reporters she'd quit Hawaii after a brief stint at college there because she was uncomfortable around Pacific Islanders.

Palin, though notoriously ill-travelled outside the United States, did journey far to the first of the four colleges she attended, in Hawaii. She and a friend who went with her lasted only one semester. “Hawaii was a little too perfect,” Palin writes.

“Perpetual sunshine isn’t necessarily conducive to serious academics for eighteen-year-old Alaska girls.” Perhaps not. But Palin’s father, Chuck Heath, gave a different account to [Scott] Conroy and [Shushannah] Walshe [authors of 'Sarah From Alaska'].

According to him, the presence of so many Asians and Pacific Islanders made her uncomfortable: “They were a minority type thing and it wasn’t glamorous, so she came home.”

So what?How come when blacks make money THE FIRST thing they do is move away from other blacks.NO ONE wants to live near minorities even minorities.

obama's racist ties were thoroughly discussed - rightfully so.

I'm betting there are a swarm of lib reporters traveling to hawaii to interview palin's college classmates, neighbors, etc. 

If this one is true, and she ever said some bad things about minorities, yikes.

I have a friend that's in the pharmacy program at the University of Hawaii and he's never complained of Asian intimidation. Perhaps Sarah Palin is an idiot?

My parents lived there for 9 years.  Would visit them all the time.  She probably got a few good doses of the "stink" eye.  But other then that.  They are pretty nice welcoming folk in 95% of the Island.

As far as her statement, I could care less, I feel the same way half the time where i live.  When I go shopping and everyone is speaking spanish, indian, arabic, russian or whatever, do you guys think I am celebrating diversity?

Her ratings are almost tied with Barry.  Gallup has him at 47% today.  CNN has her at 46%.

Sadly Billy everytime you open your mouth a fist sized chunk of your brain falls out, which is amazing since your brain was only pea sized to begin with.

The shocker here is whites are the minority. I thought Sarah somehow felt uncomfortable around her fellow white...because she was used to only being around Eskimos...especially being that she could see Russia from her front porch...

I have no problem being honest with my beliefs.  When I go out and hear nothing but spanish, russian, arabaic, etc, I want to puke.  When I see mexicans lined up along the streets sitting on trash cans hanging out like its Mexico City, I want to puke.  When I see women wearing burkas in 100 degree whether stinking up the subway, it sucks.  Does anyone really feel otherwise?  

Its the phony guilt ridden white hypocrites and liberal liars who are the real racists who would die if their lilly white daughter brought home a black guy.  Behind closed doors, those "open minded" white scumbags are worse than anyone.

I think he was probably being honest, probably the same way Obama was honest about "typical white people", or Biden about 7/11 an indian accents, or Jesse Jackson about "Hymie Town", or Hillary "Fucking Jew Bastards", or any of the rest of these people who try to hide their beliefs.

I've heard multiple times that native hawaiians are notoriously racist towards whites, especially the younger crowds.  I've never lived in hawaii but if this is true then it sounds pretty reasonable if she left for that reason.

I'd leave baltimore in a heartbeat once i finish school.  The native negros have shown me the real meaning of racism.
