I don't know about some of you other guys, but I have 2 smartphone's, and to be honest I use most of the features on most of them, I do sometimes check facebook on them, if I'm sitting in a restaurant waiting for my food or on the can,  I will surf a web site or two and answer/check my emails, best thing about BB is blackberry messenger, then again Iphone has a multi chat app on it that supports MSN, so... and I do also use the calendar's in my phones to book appointments and date's. Whoever said the phones are getting too much has their head up their ass..

you might be better off with this.

I have a droid and absolutely love it.  I have been with Verizon for a few years now and have used a few of their smart phones (i760, omnia, storm) and this is by far the best one.   It really is a coin flip as to which one you get and most are usually stuck on a contract already at one company or the other and that dictates which one they get.

The main thing that Droid has behind it is google.  They are changing up everything ab out the internet and you can expect it to trickle down to their phones, so i expect their phones to only get better as time goes on.

You really got to have a PDA if you are going to be successful in any type of industry where you need to be in contact with your clients, e-mail, easy internet access, etc.  I am in sales and my PDA's have always made me wayy more money then i could ever care about their cost.  I honestly would not function as efficiently without one this day and age.  I don't have a face book account, myspace account or twitter, or could even care less about that shit but the choice of applications, games and other just random stuff on my Droid really helps make my slow times during the day (waiting in line, taking a shit, etc)  much more fun.

Stark- go out and buy a droid or iphone and i bet you would find a ton of fun and useful things to do with it outside all the online communities you are dogging on.
Wait for it....

I use the blackberry Tour and think it's a pretty darn good cell phone.  Very user friendly the BBs are.  Its a work phone so I had no choice but am happy with it.  If I ever have to buy my own cell phone I will look hard at the Blackberrys

I've had the HTC Hero for about three weeks now - it's an Android phone and it rocks - applications are practically all free and there's hundreds of them - I can't really compare it to an I-Phone because I've never owned one but if you're looking for an I-Phone replacement or alternative then it is definitley worth considering. There's nothing you can't do on it - great for lurking on Getbig too!

Tried out a HTC magic that has android on it. Not too shabby.
Battery life on HTC sucks though

Yeah, it's no better than my old Motorola phone for battery life - I have to charge it every single day but as long as you leave the GPS, internet and wi-fi disabled (which defeats the object) then you can get about three days worth of battery out of it without any problems.  :-\

I spent $200.00 on a smartphone that keeps me connected, keeps me organized and adds to my personal business plan.  I could give a shit what you think, ha.  The only one that is "upset" here, is you.  Why do you care so much, anyway?  A little insecure in general?  I don't think anyone is trying to say that they are 'important" within this thread (they are merely participating in the topic(s))....I think you are the one who thinks he is "important" because you keep ripping those who chose to purchase a smart phone, in a childish rage.  The hypocrisy is alarming....  Cutting down others for thinking they are overly "important", but thinking you are important enough to dismiss peoples opinions and paint pictures of how they feel or act because they own an Iphone or a smartphone, lol.

I'm shocked that you hold a low position within your major company  ::)  With your attitude and willingness to look at technology as an ali, it's a wonder they haven't made you CEO by now  ::)

Look its real simple...

First of all I don't hold a low position in my company but I am not the type of guy that pretends that I am on the top - I don't do that.
But I have a leading position thats all I am saying - and in general you are doing a stupid thing you are putting words in my mouth which I never said - or where did I say that I hold a low position.... see what I mean.

Second, and pay attention this time, I have no problem with having a smart phone if it is really needed - I have said so on a couple of occasions, but I think its pathetic if somebody buys himself the latest gadget so he/she can stay connected all the time surfing facebook and twitter.
Thats my personal opinion.

So to make it easy for you

Business use - absolutly
Privat use - pathetic

I have an iPhone and I enjoy it.  But I have to admit, with all it has to offer, I really don't use it anywhere to its potential.  Hell, I didn't even use my old Blackberry to its potential. At first they're fun to play with, but in the end, I use it mainly as a phone and not much else other than the occasional picture.

thats exactly what I mean - I have learned in my life that most things you buy become kinda lame and non interesting after some time.

I think a huge mistake a lot of people (including myself) make is that they confuse need with want.

I need a new phone, is in most cases not true unless the old phone is broken or you realy need an upgrade to conduct your work.

When ever I buy something I try to remind myself - Do I really need this or do I want this? i'm not saying that its easy or that I always succeed :D I still buy stupid shit at times :P

Time ranks Motorola Droid above Apple iPhone for 2009    :-\
Time magazine has named the Motorola Droid the No. 1 gadget of 2009, besting the iPhone 3GS and calling the handset the first to truly challenge Apple's groundbreaking smartphone.

Time said that the Droid is the best hardware companion to Google's Android mobile operating system yet, earning the phone its top honors for 2009.

"The Droid is a hefty beast, a metal behemoth without the gloss and finish of the iPhone, but you don't miss it," the magazine said. "The Droid's touchscreen is phenomenally sharp and vivid, it has an actual physical (not great, but good enough) keyboard, and best of all, the Droid is on Verizon's best-of-breed 3G network. It's Android's first credible challenge to the iPhone."

Apple's iPhone still made the list, and earned praise. But the device came in fourth, behind the Barnes & Noble Nook e-reader, and the Dyson Air Multiplier.

"Take the iPhone. Make it faster. There, you're done," the story said. "Yes, the 3GS has a better camera — with video. And it has a compass and voice control. Those are all improvements over the original. But the main point of, and the best thing about, the new iPhone is speed. It has more of it. Period."

Hype surrounding the Droid continues to linger more than a month after the device first debuted. This despite the fact that the handset managed to sell 100,000 units in its first weekend, compared with over a million units of the iPhone 3GS sold in its first three days at retail.

While comparisons between the Droid and iPhone are inevitable regardless, Motorola has encouraged them with a series of advertisements geared towards men. One recent ad suggested the iPhone is feminine, comparing it to a "tiara-wearing digitally clueless beauty pageant queen." Motorola then portrays its Droid as a fast, efficient device that isn't worried about looks.

One recent study found that buzz surrounding the Droid had helped to propel the brand perception of Motorola beyond that of Apple for men ages 18 and up.

The rest of Time's top 10 gadgets list for 2009, following the iPhone 3GS, in order, is: Canon EOS-1D Mark IV, Dell Adamo XPS, FinePix Real 3D W1, Casio G-Shock GW7900B-1, Beats Solo by Dr. Dre, and Panasonic G10 Series Plasma HDTVs.

Dude, half of these reviews are paid for by the manufacturer.  They all have PR people that pimp their shit.  Who care.

Where are you getting your information from?  PR is not a product review....  That's not how pr people "pimp thier shit", and there are laws against what you mentioned.  For example: in radio, it's called payolla and plugola.  Face it, this year, there is a better phone out there in (some peoples eyes) than the Iphone.  Not a big deal.

The problem with apple is that they want to maintain control so users are limited apple approved stuff.
