I don't buy the whole global warming thing anyway - I think it's cyclical.

But these emails... well it reminds me of the 'whitey' tape that didn't exist. Or the Obama thesis that didn't exist. Rush Limbaugh and friends sold this shit as reality, of course, then got quiet when they ended up not existing.

I was watching some documentary the other night about a team of multi-national scientists drill about 1500' into an ice core in Greenland.

They are showing natural cooling and warming periods throughout the ages, and the next "warming" stage will be in a few yrs.

However, that has been the established pattern of what they have seen for more than 150k yrs, according to the core samples.

So....how were those previous warming trends triggered.....the flintstones cars?

Those Earth goes through cycles of warming and cooling - what "global warming" is about it warming that is happening outside these cycles.

But maybe for you it's easier to believe that those mad scientists are in a conspiracy.

This video doesn't say anything that the scientists haven't already been saying, and the narrator is even calling for an investigation into the matter.

Not to mention, he chooses not to discuss what I consider the most damning email; where it's argued that dissenting scientific opinions should be shunned.

Let's wait for the results of the investigation. It may play out to be nothing, or...

i definitely dont claim to be an expert... but i have always hated and not trusted gore. his name brand was on it, and i dont trust him.

Well first off all I didn't post here when Bush was POTUS so it would have been impossible. What is it with you libs and your incessant desire to quantify everything with Bush? I may not be a climatologist but I can do my own research and not just blindly follow the left wing groupthink where global warming becomes dogma. There has been FOIA requests for their data for years they won't make it public, why? Who ever has a dissenting opinion is ostracized and becomes and outcast in the scientific community, why? Al Gore the king of Global Warming takes a pass on his chance to preach to the choir in Copenhagen after these e-mails become public, why?

Ok - then watch the video. Is two emails out of a thousand the basis for an accusation of fraud? As for giving away data - scientists are always touchy on that - it's more than probably useless to anyone who is not a climatologists anyway.

I doubt it is a huge conspiracy. It may just be a couple of scientists behaving like ass-wipes. It may be nothing but smoke. But it's certainly deserving of a critical look and an investigation.

1) how is making data public giving it away? I guess it would be to much to ask to actually see the data that is going to change the very fabric of our way of life. And what makes you think you have to be a rocket scientist to look at data and determine if the temp is going up down or staying the same?

2) So a conscensus is fact? since when, science is based on fact not well enough of think the moon is indeed made of green cheese so take our word for it.

3) My guess is he is dumping all his stock in the carbon credit market before it goes belly up.

Is it a conspiracy, not enough information to determine that yet, but it has become painfully obvious that this is based on wealth, why else would there be a market for carbon credits? So as long as you are wealthy enough you can do whatever you want with impunity?
