Do you have kids? I bet you don't. I guess everyone should be business owners right? I mean after all business owners are the only ones in the world that "deserve" to make milions and millions of dollars because they are so much smarter and harder working than everyone else. That's pure and utter bullshit. Without the innovative private sector filled with engineers, scientists, artists, etc. people like you and many others wouldn't have fucking jack shit to sell. And while you're out working like a dog it's the teachers who are educating your kids and making sure they are prepared to enter into the world as responsible upstanding citizens. And while business owners are working hard 24/7 a day it's the cops and fire fighters who make sure their shit doesn't burn down and they aren't robbed at gunpoint. You see where I'm going with this?
I guaranfuckingtee you you're not smarter nor harder working than I am. I'm an RN. Hell I might even make as much money as you. And as someone who can sympathize with you and others as a future business owner (I'm in the process of writing my own business plan and hopefully going into business for myself soon) I realize the amount of dedication, work, money, energy etc. that goes into running a business. However, I'm not talking about mom and pop businesses like yours. I'm talking about the multinational corporations that have been siphoning off the wealth and assets of the American middle class for decades. They can't even create jobs anymore they are so big and inefficient. Government is not the root of all our problems like you and many others so naively believe. People in general are just lazier, more greedy, and more corruptable than ever, both in the private sector and in the government. Hell most in government were once in the private sector and vice versa.
When you work for someone, you negotiate your salary and benefits etc. If you are not happy with that, you have the option to either accept, decline and fird work somewhere else, or take a risk and work for yourself.
When you work for someone else or a company, in return for the security of getting a paycheck every week, you give up the potential of reaping a large reward or loss when the business does great or does bad.
This is why I laugh at unions ansd union members who scream that they 'deserve" a piece of the pie or profits. WTF? When the business goes under, will they accept the losses that have been accumulated.
Business Owners take on a huge risk by going on their own. For myself personally, i have two people who work for me. Some weeks I have to go without a paycheck, but there are others where I get a huge paycheck. Its just how it is.
People are pointing to the wrong people are far as the problems go. Its the cost of living that is squeezing people out of middle class, not the "evil rich".
Are the evil rich driving up your property taxes? Are they doubling your DMV fees and enacting sales tax hikes to jusify wasteful govt spending?
When teachers scream about their salaries and the local taxes go up, is that the rich peoples' fault?
The govt is the problem not people who have $$$.
