That’s funny.
The match did suck – even by late 80’s standards.

Although – and I give credit where credit is due – I’ve got to hand it to Hogan.
Granted, it wasn't Angle vs. Benoit, but he did get in there with a guy who had almost “0” wrestling experience to speak of, and drew decent money.

I say “decent” because:
1.) WWF was hot at that time and drawing good buy rates for all of their
     PPV’s.
2.) That event was offered as a package: I believe it was a NHB movie +
     show combo.
3.) Many male fans no doubt bought the movie just to see if Joan
Severence would flash her magnificently delicious boobs as she did
     in her prior film.

I was off for a week on holidays but I bought this dvd and its good. It has a lot of hidden gems and matches that were never televised from the 80's & 90's. A lot of gioddies for the true Hogan fan.

Does it include the segment of him & Mr. T doing SNL before WM?

I'd love to get that skit of those two with Billy Crystal as Fernando Lamas.

There's a segment of Mr.T & Hogan going to a health food store as they were training prior to the first wrestlemania.

I can't remember that one.

But, do you remember the clip I’m talking about?
Billy Crystal is dressed as Lorenzo Lamas’ dad, and all three of them are sitting at a table.
Crystal says something & Hogan starts to laugh for real.

He tries covering his face with his hand, but his whole body is shaking from laughter - including his pecs.
Then, while still in character, Crystal reaches over to point at Hogan’s chest and adlibs something like, “Do you know that when you laugh your little things go up and down?”

Hogan lost it at that point.
It was hysterical.

Every now and then E! plays the segment on one of their SNL countdown moments.
I can't find it anywhere on youtube.

Ironic enough, I can't remember that one  :). Must have been funny though.

I laughed so hard for the first 20-30 sec. that my GF thought there was something wrong with me.

If I ever find it, I'll post it on here.

If you can, get the Piper DVD and watch some of the old pit segments from the early to mid eighties when Piper was really racist and pretty much said whatever he wanted.

The GF got it for me about a year ago.
He also did a shoot with Highspots that had some old, "non-WWF" owned footage, which is truly rare.

Did you watch his dog collar match with Valentine?

I think that dog collar match was the most violent I have ever seen. Lots of blood and violence at a time when it wasn't on tv. 1983 I believe. Piper lost 50% of the hearing in his left ear after taking a shot with the chain from Valentine.

'83 sounds about right.

I wonder if this match had any influence on the Todd Gordon/Paul Heyman team.
