The answer lies in Physics, fuck face.  Calculating the necessary weight distribution over the length and width of the blade so that the pressure density is less than what is needed to "crack" the skin doesn't take 8 hours of meditation a day for 60 years. 
Hell, with today's calculators, it doesn't even take much of an education.
