Kazan, I hear what you're saying. To educate my young self, do you know of any documentaries that show the transition from pre big insurance to now???
No not really just personal experience, I had the same doctor that delivered me until I was 16 years old. There was never a bunch of red tape of pages or forms to fill out, you went in got treatment and paid on the way out. I can rememeber getting shots for school, cost $25, paid and left. I can't imagine what the cost of school shots are now. I can also remember when the HMO came to be, we lost our familiy doctor because he wasn't on the list.
The point is the costs didn't go through the roof until everything was handed over to the HMO's, and this is a reoccuring theme with government. Either they had full knowledege of what was going to happen and did it anyway, or they are so ignorant that they didn't see it coming, whats worse?
Now as usual we presented with another situation where the government is going to "fix" healthcare, sorry but they made the mess in the first place. Are we going to be suckered again?
