It's typical, and the standard left wing tactic, you go after the emotional response. What you say doesn't have to be grounded in fact because there is no way to measure it. When you look at what they say with a logical approach, what you see is a dumbass grandstanding for the cameras.

Billy come on.  There are 45000 deaths attributed to a lack of availability of health care.  People can not just 'go to the hospital' because without insurance.

That is a very misplaced statement playing on our emotions.  Very few people are denied healthcare in this country, the poor are covered at 100%, and the elderly have medicare.  Illegals shouldn't be here so IMO, we can't count them as people not having access.  Many people just don't feel like spending the $ for coverage, especially younger folks that are healthy.

One of the few good things in this bill is to restrict the practice of denying healthcare based on pre-existing conditions.  That is bullshit...but they could have just passed a law about that.  Instead we have this giant healthcare bill which bowed to the insurance companies, bowed to the trial lawyers and really doesn't bring down the cost of healthcare, as was the original motive.
The fact that we will be paying for this program for 4 yrs before it starts means the plan is not budget neutral.

This is not the bill we need.  It fails to address the main objective of decreasing overall medical costs, does little to help regulate insurance companies better, does nothing to increase competition and completely avoided the malpractice crisis in the medical community.

And this surprises you? For cripe sakes the government set this fucked up mess in the first place. Like I have said before I can remember pre-HMO, PPO,...... healthcare.

No not really just personal experience, I had the same doctor that delivered me until I was 16 years old. There was never a bunch of red tape of pages or forms to fill out, you went in got treatment and paid on the way out. I can rememeber getting shots for school, cost $25, paid and left. I can't imagine what the cost of school shots are now. I can also remember when the HMO came to be, we lost our familiy doctor because he wasn't on the list.  

The point is the costs didn't go through the roof until everything was handed over to the HMO's, and this is a reoccuring theme with government. Either they had full knowledege of what was going to happen and did it anyway, or they are so ignorant that they didn't see it coming, whats worse?

Now as usual we presented with another situation where the government is going to "fix" healthcare, sorry but they made the mess in the first place. Are we going to be suckered again?

Still, this bill really doesn't address the main issues in healthcare, they avoided taking on the trial lawyers and insurance companies.

Insurance - Huge lobbiest - Lawyers well lets just say most politicians are lawyers

...and that is a problem.  We have too many politician lawyers.  I wouldn't want 90% of politicians being doctors either.  We should have a mix of people in politics and definitely more people with real world business backrounds.  In this congress, we are lacking people with strong economic growth principles.  Lawyers often bog things down IMO.

Here is a CNN link that describes a few differences between the senate and house bills.  Looks like neither are good but the senate bill is better than the house.  I didn't realize taxes on higher income people go up under both bills and that small-mid size businesses are penalyzed under both as well.  Please get these liberals out of congress.
