Read a statement where he said he did not like how the liberals in the house were doing things and that Nancy Pelosi is extremely polarizing.
I think the liberals in charge of the senate right now are some of the biggest bullies we have seen in Washington in recent years.  I think they feel it's their time and they are going to push through their agenda no matter what methods are used.  Ends justify the means thought process.

Repubs slammed this guy for being one of the biggest libs around - "American is america's biggest enemy" and blamed 911 on america.

His voting record was liberal, and the repubs clearly owned his ass up and down in TV ads. 

Guys... he just wanted an (R) by his name in his tea bagging mccain-voting district.  And now the Repubs have a guy with an extremely lib voting record.  A RINO, right?    The only diff is, when he runs again in a year... guess what... you''ll have a lib on the dem ticket (whoever they choose) and a lib on the Repub ticket (Griffith).

Not exactly reason to celebrate.  You can only hope this guy you now adore loses the primary fight.

The Alabama Democratic Party issued a statement Wednesday accusing Griffith's political consultancy, Main Street Strategies, of downloading "sensitive voter identification data that was the property of the Alabama Democratic Party."

"This final act was obviously intended to aid Mr. Griffith in his new role as a Republican candidate. Upon hearing of Mr. Griffith’s switch, security measures were taken to prevent further transfers of data," the statement read.

Even though the "sensitive" voter data helped elect Griffith in 2008, "in the wee hours before he became a Republican, Parker Griffith’s political operatives, with full knowledge of what was occurring, went online and downloaded our confidential records,” Alabama Democratic Party Chairman Joe Turnham said.




And, repubs are already saying what I just said... dude is a lib who just wants to keep his job

"I can't help but regard this 'Road to Damascus' conversion of Parker Griffith's as solely a ploy to cling to his seat in 2010," said Republican State Treasurer Kay Ivey, as quoted at the Huntsville Times. "We're all well-aware of the increasingly negative poll results for Democrats in Alabama and around the nation."  Griffith has denied the accusation that his defection amounts to political opportunism


Enjoy him, republicans.  The worst thing for you would be for this guy to run as a repub in 2 months, which he will.  yes, he served his full term as a lib.... then switched on christmas week so he can enter the spring primary as a repub.

Maybe.  But he is the incumbent Republican candidate now.  This will give him some advantages in the teabagger district.

The GOP got a lib, who votes lib, who is using their name to ensure re-election.  Imagine if more libs jump to the GOP in name - and keep voting lib - this will keep more repubs out of office.

Griffith slammed the health care overhaul making its way through Congress. He was one of 39 House Democrats to vote against a version of the bill that narrowly passed.

"I want to make it perfectly clear that this bill is bad for our doctors," he said. "It's bad for our patients. It's bad for the young men and women who are considering going into the health care field."
