are there "bodybuilding camps" ?
« on: December 23, 2009, 10:32:22 AM »
this question is twofold

1) are their bodybuilding summer camps (like fat camps, band camp, etc)

2) are their bodybuilding training camps
for example, it seems cagefighters all belong to a training camp like ATT, AKA, Greg Jackson's, etc.
I was wondering if bodybuilders ever prepare for shows in an elite camp the same way cagefighters prepare for a big match

Sure there are bodybuilding camps - haven't you heard of those wonderful summer evenings when Jay, Kai, Dexter and Phil all sit round the camp-fire strumming a ukelele and singing "kum-ba-ya"?

Yes, but around here we call them "Nasser Nights"

they will toughen and rough you up, then massage you down followed by a refreshing stint in the hot tub to probe your "capacity"

still interested?

This is Matt leg pressing 1300 lbs:  When he started he did 270 on his first day and almost threw up!

So that douche is stronger than Ronnie?

They host an annual one at the Miraga Hotel, I hear. Maybe someone here can give you the specifics.

Yes, I remember in Muscle & Schmoeness back in the late 80's when I first started lifting as a kid, they had "Weider Muscle Camp" or something they showed in the mag. I remember seeing pics of Lee Haney, Sean Rey, Mike Quinn, Lee Labrada, etc there in the gym they had. They were giving training and posing instruction to people - most appeared to be young males, IIRC.
