Are you serious!? another Arnold cover... I understand the guy is a legend, he is bodybuilding...but ffs he hasn't competed in almost 30 years... and there's at least 5 or 6 covers a year with *unreleased secret training* Arnold pics... it's getting ridiculous, give some of the young pups a chance.

No, you dont understand he is bodybuilding......not If yore still asking why hes on the cover .

Arnold is the "ideal" for the masses At least Flex is trying to reach for the masses "once a year".

And thats why bodybuilding is a dying hobby, only the judges would think Branch looks better than Arnold even in terms of bodybuilding. 99.99999% of the population would rather look like Arnold and thinks Arnold looks better than Branch or any other modern bodybuilder.

Not fair, as you have two completely different targets, there's a VERY small group who follow BB competitions, and theres a more larger group of teenagers, gym goers and Arnold fans who would bump to such mags that are all over the nation .

Arnold = what everyman wishes he looked like.

Branch = what <0.00000000001% of the male population wants to look like and what 99.9999999% of people think is revolting.

Second place finish for branch was a complete and utter joke at the O

Dex smokes him on shape alone, branch is a bloated collection of mangled body parts.

Branch is disgusting

Arnold is a world Icon.

Branch looks like something that lives under a bridge.

The question that needs to be asked is this:

Which one of those two would most possibly make it to 70?  Who would you put your money on?

Branch working out around Arnold back in the day would have been akin to just another Ken Waller--maybe Platz or any of the other guys that never really "made it" to the big time.

None of those guys back then even came close to the big shredded, ripped and torn up physiques that we see today, and it sure as hell aint because of lack of dieting or working out hard.

May as well compare a Peterbilt to a Dodge Ram.

I love Arnold as much as the next guy... I got into working out and bodybuilding because of his movies, but come on already... for a guy that retired 30 years ago, for half of the years issues to feature THE SAME pictures of him on the cover is ridiculous..

http://articles.latimes.com/2005/jul/14/local/me-governor14

They keep putting Arnold on the cover because he is still on their payroll and his high  profile continues to draw magazine buyers.

In a deal that was announced last year at the 2004 Arnold Classic, David Pecker (CEO of AMI, who owns Weider Publications) announced that Arnold was joining forces with AMI by becoming the Executive Editor of two magazines - Muscle & Fitness, and Flex. With this added responsibility, they very generously agreed to commit to $250,000 annually to the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness. What we didn't see in the press release is the special additional monies that would go directly to Arnold himself.

But because of a SEC filing, information came out that Arnold is getting over a million dollars a year, or more, because the agreement calls for Arnold to get 1% of the magazine's advertising revenue each year. Thus, the contract calls for up to over $8 millions dollars over 5 years. Nice, very nice.

Of course, Arnold was receiving money from the magazines before this agreement, because he was writing a monthly column for the last few years anyway. But this number stunned many in the bodybuilding industry. Not too mention the many out there who would love to find any dirt they can get on Arnold.

Not that this isn't legal. California law says that any elected official can keep a consulting or job. But because Arnold vetoed a bill that would restrict dietary supplements in the industry (even though he did the right thing), his critics are crying conflict of interest, and want all ties with AMI and the magazines cut off. So Arnold has to make a decision - a political one - on whether or not do to this. If he doesn't, it will continue to be a big issue and might effect his next run for Governor. If he does, it would solve some problems, but his critics will still dredge it up whenever they can.

Oak Productions is Arnold's company where the payments go to. The deal, while not needed to be public, still should have been disclosed earlier last year, and things are further clouded with the contract as it says "Mr. S" on it, and not Arnold Schwarzenegger. So the opinions on the street and on the Internet. While Arnold is in perfectly legal rights to keep the deal, and no laws have been broken. the issue is a moral one - one which looks like a conflict on interest, and may cause much problems for him over the future

This deal was inked after he was elected but just before he was sworn into office as CA governor.

I like Branch's physique better than Arnold's. :D

I wonder if "SPACE MAGAZINE" puts Neil Armstrong on the cover of 3 monthly issues each year.

X2. Lets compare bodybuilders who competed 30yrs apart, thats always a good idea. Should we also throw out the fact that Igor(Branch) takes more juice in a week than Arnold would take for his entire pre-contest prep. Arnold=legend that everyone wants to look like     Branch= dead by 40

not true, arnold and the guys back then took way more than most people believe.  they lie alot about their intake. arnold was always a serious abuser of drugs,, he took tremendous amounts of orals.

and of course people much rather look like arnold compared to branch.

Arnolds arms and chest are still better than Branchs, and that's sad after 30 years of "evolution".

NO ONE, to this day, has built a chest close to A's.

In fact, chest dev seems under par today

comparing arnold to branch is like... comparing the gavana of califonia to a smelly hog hunter.
