Charlie Sheen charged with assault - smear campaign?

Saw this in the news:

Charlie has been vocal in his criticism of the government about 9/11. Anyone else think this is a smear campaign? I'm wondering.

I'm sure those drug problems were just the "government", keeping good ol' Charlie dazed and preventing him...
