Manfred was a guinea pig for Chris Clark. I am 99% sure that most of those pics are from 95-96. My first bodybuilding mag was a 1994 Ironman, and I read most from the latter part of that yr. No Manfred. Only by late 95 or 96 did he start showingup in mags, in particular Musclemag and Flex. Both did articles or interviews on him. And made comments that his arms were not as hard as Robby Robinson's.

Well, I wasn't in Cali in 93 and don't know either Shawn or Flex but my guess is still that he used oil. They looked oiled even back then. Esiclene looks a bit different. Now Flex has admitted to using Synthol too, not just the Esiclene as some seem to think. Plus Chris Clark hinted that Flex was a user of his product. Everyone had access to Esiclene but something else was going on with Flex which is why Shawn called him on it, the calves were suddenly much larger.

Yeah Flex admitted to using synthol, it was most obvious in 99-2000. Flex came into the 97 Mr.o conference with supposed x rays to show he had no implants. But his police report was fake, so who knows. I know that the pic I have from the 93 Arnold clearly shows muscle and not oil. And that his flexed calf in video looks like a flexed calf. Plus that twisting back shot from the 93 Arnold shows his arms and delts, so dry you can see the striations,and moat importantly the seperation. In the infamous black and white photos from the 99 Mr. O, Flex's delts lack that seperation, in fact Ronnie said that when Flex flexed nothing happened.

I know I've made coments about Flex about his alleged lies and character but I actually was a fan of his physique. I was one of the happy ones when he turned pro at the USA in Santa Monica. He's actually has been a cool person to me also. However, his book, the car jacking, clean test for the 2002 Mr. Olympia and other "stories" lead me to not believe everything he says now. I think many other Getbig posters agree.

So paco was 280 lbs at the NEW YORK pro at 5'8? LOL .. robert the latvian with the beast arms is only 245 on stage and is the same height

I realized Flex was a victim of the spring shows and his physique was showing the signs of having to re-peak so many times , his conditioning was actually not as good as Shawn Ray's but he placed ahead of Shawn due to superior size and shape

Dorian was just on-point for that show , perfect conditioning , unmatched size and balance , I think if Flex 93 ASC competed at that show it would have been down to the wire . Dorian always said the one guy who he felt could give him a trouble was Flex and no one else

Yeah some good points here especially this one show after another....and when he actually went to the Biggest show of all...he never was @ his best once... its a well know issue trying to peak more than once a year especially @ that sort of level is very very difficult, yip and flex's A/C condition @ the 93 O would of been closer...too a point... i still think Dorian would of won as his TOTAL overall condition and hardness would of seen Flex off, ive just seen Flexs 1998 Ironman routine

....and once again im shaking my head...if and again its that IF he had waited and brought that package to the 1998 MR OLYMPIA IMO he not Ronnie would have Won the 1998 MR OLYMPIA

however again Flex was (it seems) happy to pick up the cash @ lesser shows and assume he'd peak again @ the OLYMPIA....he didn't and as History shows he never did...

I think Flex at the '98 Arnold was his best showing combining more size than in '93 and almost just as good conditioning

Can't say I don't understand if he did lie about the car jacking. Dude didn't want to pay the IFBB fee for dropping out of a show

I've seen Paco train and the man is awesome. Not the most symmetrically pleasing but he's a freaky dude and very cool to boot. Never met a pro so nice as him
