*PIP* Drummer for Avenged Sevenfold Found Dead

James Owen Sullivan, 28, who went by the stage name The Rev, appears to have died of natural causes.

HUNTINGTON BEACH, California -- Police say James Owen Sullivan, a drummer and backup vocalist for the Southern California band Avenged Sevenfold, has been found dead at his home in Southern California.

Lt. John Domingo says the 28-year-old Sullivan, who went by the stage name The Rev, appears to have died of natural causes on Monday in Huntington Beach.

The Orange County coroner's office is investigating the death.

Avenged Sevenfold formed in Huntington Beach in 1999 and won Best New Artist at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2006. According to their MySpace page, the five-man metalcore band was working on their fifth album.

The band released a statement Monday expressing their sadness and calling Sullivan "one of the world's best drummers," and "our best friend and brother."

Funny how many of these guys are just like that. Living in a huge house in the suburbs, nothing to worry about, world at their feet. Yet, they make their own problems (in their minds), to cope, they turn to drugs.  ::)

I live in in HB and never heard of them. He looked like a fine young man....I'm sure he died of "natural causes" ::)

Do you have any idea how easy it is for some human beings to make money? Its as easy as getting up out of bed for some...Steve Jobs(Billionaire owner of Apple) didn't need a new liver because he lived in a huge house in the suburbs with nothing to worry about and had the world at his feet...

Although take it with a grain of salt because I'm a HUGE gordiano fan... :D

I believe the operative word in the police report is "appears."
He's only said to "appears to have died of natural causes."

Meaning that if he snorted a line of coke that circled the earth 75 times, and died of a massive heart attack, laying at home on the floor....that would appear that he just curled up and died, would it not?

But if he had been robbed and bludgeoned to death, that would certainly NOT appear to have been a natural cause of death.
