Way in over my head? Hardly. You're the one suggesting that one shouldn't take flunitrazepam because it is potentially lethal despite the fact that practically everyone that died from it either combined it with barbiturates/heroin/alcohol.
That is not a fact. I posted the studies for you to have as proof where it stated that flunitrazepam is the most toxic/lethal of the benzodiazepines. What is not a fact is that most deaths occur due to its use combined with barbiturates/heroin/alcohol. I haven't found such literature, if you have, show me some, I'd liek to read it for self-edification.
You are the one suggesting that one shouldn't take flunitrazepam because of the risk of an allergic reaction, despite the fact that allergic reactions are extremely rare with this drug and that it is far more likely that he'll get an allergic reaction from eating certain foods than from taking flunitrazepam - and even when an allergic reaction occurs, the symptons are mild compared to food poisoning.
You are selectively leaving out portions of my argument in order to better argue your point. What I said was that if you are not aware of this person's:
(A) Ability to properly metabolize this drug in his liver
(B) Ability to properly have renal clearance of this drug
(C) The potential for him to have an allergic, paradoxical or even idiosyncratic reaction to this drug
..Then you should not be pushing this drug for recreational use since you do not have any level of certainty with regards to how devastating it can be to this particular individual who has already shown very little self control with things less lethal like that of redbull.
Oh, and here in my country I can go into a drug store and purchase it with no script. In Europe, a regular script will allow you to purchse it and a psychiatric script is not needed.
You know of our very own borders there is a magical place called Mexico where you can pretty much purchase any drug without a prescription, yet that doesn't mean that it is right to do so. There is a reason why this particular drug has been banned from use in the entire USA, close to all states have reclassified the drug from a level IV to a level I controlled substance and the DEA is already in the process of reclassifying the drug. Not to mention, that it's the official date rape drug...
And I can vouch for it from personal experience since I've taken it several times and never had any bad reaction to it. As long as you don't combine it with other sedatives like barbiturates and alcohol or powerful analgesics like heroin and Nubain, you should be fine.
With regards to this comment, what works one way within your system, will not necessarily work the same way in someone else's body. Again, unless this man's liver has the same metabolizing properties as yours, as well as his renal clearance being the same, there is no telling what effect this drug will have on his body.
Benzodiazepines are safe.
For the most part, they are...
Again, I find that your stance is a little reckless. That being said, we'll have to agree to disagree about this issue.
Either way, good discussion,
