Sarah Palin will headline first-ever Tea Party Convention
« on: January 06, 2010, 08:36:52 PM »
Smart of her to position herself with this rising party, particularly after many in the 'traditional' rGOP have abandoned her.

However, I hope she is careful not to associate herself with that one tea party founder who held up a sign using the N-word.  Also I would hate to see her compeltely derail a successful Thune 2012 run by "Nader-ing" the Republicans.

Almost 1-1/2 years since she shook up American politics with her acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention, former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is set to headline another landmark political event: the first-ever Tea Party Convention next month in Nashville, Tenn.

On its face, the gig would seem a step down for Ms. Palin, one of conservative America’s most popular and polarizing figures (not to mention major thorn in the side of the Obama White House).

But with an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll ranking a generic “Tea Party” as more popular than either Democrats or Republicans, and Palin herself rivaling the charming Mr. Obama in poll popularity, many experts see the Tea Party event as a potential milestone for a mounting, even transformational, force in US politics.

“ith two wars, a continuing terror threat, huge federal deficits, and a major healthcare overhaul in the works, there is no shortage of disaffection out there … and that could prove to be political dynamite,” writes the Washington Post’s Howard Kurtz. Against that backdrop, writes Mr. Kurtz, “The tea types can either blossom into a Perotista-style third-party movement or be subsumed to some degree by the GOP.”

I'm creaming at the idea of the GOP running a highly viable candidate.  One who will push obama to do his finest job.  Not some slob or flake.

America wins when we have two highly prepared candidates running.

I really dont care about 2012 right now.  The main thing is stopping the Obama agenda, however that happens.  Cap & Trade, Amensty for Illegals, Health Care, etc all are a complete train wreck.

I care about the Gop having a leader.

You have michael steele on FOX news trying to suck up to tea party leaders like this guy.  I don't like that - do you?

Steel is a clown.  I hate what I see in the GOP now.  They really suck horribly.

I wish guys like Schiff, RP, Harry Browne (R.I.P.), etc were at the helm.  I can get behind that.

McConnel, Boehner, etc do nothing for me.

As far as Palin, I like her energy and willingness to call people out and call out Obama's marxism and horrible policies.

She has more balls than all these guys in the GOP.

Dont even get me started on the Dems.  They are communist-lite right now.

If you read DU or Huff Post, they are already begging for a primary challenger to Obama.

'one nut'?

Do your research.  The guy founded teaparty.org and has been one of, if not THE pre-eminent voice of the movement.  He's a founder.  Not some random nut.

Any example of democrat racist you can find will be met with equal disgust from me.

There are isolated cases of idiots everywhere.

The general premise of the Tea party is very important...forcing our leaders to limit the power of the federal government.  Few are doing that and the last 2 administrations have increased gov power, spending and influence on our personal lives.  Too many far left liberals want to more more toward marxism and socialism...this is fact, how far toward those ideas are debateable.

I hope the republicans can listen to the tea party and get back to traditional conservative principles.

I gave you an example of a Klan recruiter, how about Jesse Jackson,Al Sharpton,Bobby Rush,Maxine Waters,Obama himself.Where is your outrage. Two speak at the democratic conventions just about every year, two are congressman making laws for us and one is the president who sat in a racist church listening and absorbing every word from a raving racist in Rev. Wright. Are you kidding me?

I am not looking for a messiah like the liberals do.  The child-like left wing are like little children looking for a Dear Leader to give them crap.

I want a wild fire like organization that cant be tied down to one person and spreads and causes trouble for these career communists everywhere they are.

I'm in the middle of this book about the Federal Reserve and yes 240 - most of these career hacks are marxists and socialists and need to have a boot on their throats until they either are defeated at the election booth or forced from office.
