twas on a few nites ago....i caught bits n pieces of it...

i didn't know that this extremist version of islam is called "wahabism" and is prevalent in saudi...an the saudis have spent upwards of 100billion in the last 20 or so yrs to spread it....

anyone got a video link to it?

I recorded it on my DVR when it originally ran.  It was on again today.  Interesting show, I didn't know that Cairo was like any western city just 15 to 20 years ago...  :o

back in the 70s karachi pakistan used to have bars and nite clubs :-\  all that is illegal now

thats what i keep arguing with people like bezerk about...this version is islam (if you can call it that) is foriegn to how i grew up...no women ever in my familly wore burkas etc...yes we prayed but on fridays and eid... :-\

eid is like X-mas...kinda...once/yr (well technically 2ice)...everyone prayed on eid...and more than most prayed the friday prayer...the big prayers when god actually listens < :-\  >

lol..why is it such a surprise...there r lots n lots of normal muslims in pakistan...the extremists r a minority...albiet a destructive and a very vocal minority...

growing up....we'd plan our driving routes according to who ws rioting/protesting (read whining) where....

i'm studying for my CCIE...i take the test anywhere between may and july...and i'm set for life...

i'm not the business type.....i like technical stuff..its fun....i dont have the patience for business... :-\

its not new money mate...it ws my grand uncle and great grandfather that made it doing biz with the english (pre indo pak partition)

There is an unrelated question that I want to ask, but I don't know how....

I have relatives on one side of my family that made a great amount of money, and taught their kids well (my great grandparents/grandparents/great uncles/parent etc...)  On the other side though, nothing to impressive to talk about.  My question is, why do some people do well and some don't?  Is it genetics?  Did they just come from a long long line of smart people since Adam and Eve?   ???
