latif is an arabic name...i've noticed this many times...a male muslim name turned into a female name   "latif" means joyous one

i did some research on this.  often times, the biggest "mentors" in the hood are muslim or have muslim names, so people look up to them and think if they give muslim names to their kids, the kids will somehow grow up to be succesful members of the community (see: biggest drug dealers).

plus, they're idiots who follow Muhammad Ali and mike tyson, who was muslim for about 2 days.

The 'back to Africa' movement in the 60s & 70s was largely promoted by the black Muslim community in the U.S., so that's the root of a lot of that influence.
